Default Lost a WWII vet

I was honored to know him and call him my friend. He passed on January 17. His stories were memorable. He lied about his age to enlist when the war started and wanted to fly. His mechanical skills were obvious however and he ended up assembling aircraft behind Rommel's lines in North Africa that were parachuted in at night with crews to assemble them. He eventually got into flight training and after the war flew commercial airlines. He liked to tell about the Super Constellation and what a sweet aircraft it was. He continued to fly his own plane until he made the decision on his own that he was not longer qualified. He was a soft spoken gentle man. His wife told us of his passing - "He's taken his last flight."

Sorry to say that I don't know exactly what unit he was with and he's not here to ask. Darn it. His name was Loyde Foster.
