Question Explain Your User Name

I am a tax lawyer. When I first started posting on a certain sports forum legal eagle was taken, so I phonetically created the palindrome word legelegel.

I really like the symmetry and way the word looks written out in gold in Vladimir Script font. Note that each letter has a loop. I really never put any significance into all the loops until now. They certainly don't follow a perfectly circular path which would show my eccentricity with a eclectic group of friends.

n. Archaic A loophole through which small arms may be fired.
n. In gunnery, a small fron ring in the barrel of a gun.

I needed something easy to remember, I'm forgetful especially when I am (was) on so many forums.

I'm half Kiwi and 100% gun enthusiast... I love New Zealand and I love shooting.

I love Westerns so--I chose the lead character in the nineteen thirty-nine version of my all time most favorite western: Stagecoach. The Ringo Kid was portrayed by John Wayne. TRK was supposed to be a bad guy in Stagecoach--however--we all know he really wasnt one. Anyway--that Ringo had been in minor trouble with the authorities--like I have been here sometimes. Anyway, Dutch Henry Brown and Waco Johnny Dean--are just too long for me to keep spelling out. And besides-the both of them get killed in a gunfight but the RK never was killed.

This has come up before. Mine involved a live-in Sri Lankan maid, a jealous Filipino girlfriend, and a high jacked email account. Further details would get me banned.

My initials are GAF and as a supervisor the boss would send around various documents and each supervisor was expected to read and initial. One of the other supervisors picked up on it and started call me Gaffer and it stuck. That was nearly 50 years ago.

"Fishinfool" - Kind of self explanatory. It was a nick name a neighbor gave me one year after watching me get my boat ready during a snow storm for the spring brown trout season up on lake Ontario. Its been the name on the back of my boats since then.

When I see an S&W revolver the first thing I look for is the barrel pin. If there ain't one I'm usually not interested. If it's a Magnum, it has to be recessed.
So I'm the P&R Fan.

Well, I am rather corpulent and my last name begins with "ride." My buddies in high school thought Big Ride sounded better than Fat Paul. Thank goodness. So bigride stuck. Then a teacher misspelled my last name making the last four letters "haus." Thus my nickname changed to Hoss about my junior year. I stuck with bigride so people wouldn't think I was a Bonanza fanatic. I'm sorry but one of those dudes had to get married at some point. Am I right?

Just pretend this is witty.

For years my user name on most of the forums I visited was 44Cody. 44 being the number I wore in football and college and my preferences for big bore N frames.

C Squared was nickname bestowed onto me by the late Joe Beck when I was studying with him. It stuck. I miss that man a lot.

For many years, my favorite S&W was a Model 40 (I prefer the Model 37 now, and perhaps my favorite is the improved Model 56, AKA 2" Model 15), but the 40 sounds so ordinary.

There was a post like this a year or so ago but I am a starving carburetor rebuilder for 40+ years. I like to hear the moan of a strong 4 barrel motor. Two is better--like Pro Stock in NHRA. SOME SOUND LIKE THEY ARE SUCKING THE HOOD IN>

In the beginning , I had XXL feet.

Bigfoot was my handle in the heyday of CB Radio.

In the internet age , plain old bigfoot was always taken , so I added the second "g" , and the number 44 in tribute to the .44spl .

I signed up for Uncle Sam's Army in Nov '82 & reported to basic & "MP" school in Feb '83 at Fort McClellan, Alabama...I wanted a short & simple handle that meant something to me, so I went with MP1983
