You are living in the middle of it. Your current weather is an example of extreme global warming gone wild. Your only hope is to sell your car and take the bus, and become a vegetarian. Everyone knows bovines and the automobile cause global warming.

We're all the way up to double digits and there's supposed to be 8 or so inches of global warming by tomorrow morning.

Don't make fun of Global Warming.. It is a real threat.
We have politicians that want our money and freedom because of their contrived science. That is threatining.....and no laughing matter.

-3 when I got up this morning. Will peak in the mid 20s this week. I'm flying to Washington State on Thursday and it will be in the mid 50s and raining. That will seem like a tropical paradise to me.
I'd like a week of days in the mid 40s actually. The snow would melt, but slowly enough not to cause too much damage.

I just cleaned the front sidewalk and the Town sidewalk snowblower filled it back up for me.
It froze so hard overnight that I needed a digging bar to break off chunks before the snowblower would digest it....

It's no longer "global warming". The new buzz is "climate change".
Being educated I have not found any reasoning why it's now climate change. The story was that man made burning of fossil fuels created CO2 & CO that kept all the heat from escaping to Mars (or was it Pluto?). Not sure what the scientific reason is for climate change. However I have been assured it is caused by man and only huge sums of money paid into government coffers will solve the problem - maybe.
Seriously, I think the winters of '76 & '78 were far worse than today.

The " Global Warming" is here in Las Vegas, NV. We've had
two weeks of daytime temps in the mid to high 70's. Of
course, everything is blooming, and along with that comes
the pollen allergies.

If it gets any warmer, we're all going to freeze!
QUICK! Send more of your money to Washington, they'll fix it.

It's -17 where I am in Vermont as I type this. Somewhere on the planet they're enjoying weather that's a whole bunch of degrees warmer than usual. It all balances out across the planet, we're on the short end of the stick at the moment.

Didn't the community organizer say "climate change" is our biggest problem? It will be interesting to see if the northeast electorate carries the next liberal claiming "climate change".

I guess the power that think they be, will cork all of the world's volcanoes. One good volcano belch and there is more crud in the air than man has put there in the last 100 years.
It must be all of those save the polar bear folks causing it to be so cold. Bet they leave the refrigerator door open all the time to cool the outdoors. Fear not though, soon the DC folks will give us back the hour of sunshine they took away in the afternoon and it will warm up again.

It was actually the Pentagon that issued a comprehensive report on the on the growing threat of climate change. I think if their best and brightest thinkers and strategists are sounding the alarm on the issue, it would behoove us all to listen.

Ah global warming. We've had that this Winter here in Utah. Fall lasted until a few days before Christmas with daytime highs in the 40s and 50s. Then it was three weeks with a little snow and cold and then back to record warm and Spring like weather. We hit the high 60s and low 70s the first week of February. I'm kind of liking this global warming thing but I'm not selling my snowblower anytime soon.

You can't call it "global warming" anymore because that makes it subject to objective measurement.
You have to call it "climate change" because that's a suitably meaningless tautology. Indeed, if the climate NEVER changed again, that could be put down to "climate change".
It's what charlatans and con men do, play with language... and the heads of gullible dopes.

Thirteen days above 70°F in February here in Vegas so far while the East is getting creamed. It doesn't matter what you call it, there is lots of it going on right now.

And you assume they did this independently or the people involved don't have their own agenda? Come on!
I am all for conservation. But that is not their agenda … which is the absolute destruction of our current economy, society, and way of life and remolding it into one of their own choosing. And one in which they are in charge.
If our Commander in Chief has told NASA that one of their roles is to make the Arab world feel good about their scientific accomplishments, do you really doubt that he instructed the military to "find" evidence and produce a report that climate change is our biggest threat?

The Pentagon has been sounding the alarm since 2004:
Pentagon tells Bush: climate change will destroy us | Environment | The Guardian
But hey, why let facts get in the way of a (yet another) good Obama conspiracy theory....

To link threads, the difference between weather and climate is as hard for some folks to grasp as the difference between 'their,' 'there,' and 'they're.'

Dec 9th 2010, at the Global Warming Summit, held in Cancun mexico, a record lo temp was set...
"The irony: As negotiators from nearly 200 countries met in Cancun to strategize ways to keep the planet from getting hotter, the temperature in the seaside Mexican city plunged to a 100-year record low of 54° F. Climate-change skeptics are gleefully calling Cancun's weather the latest example of the "Gore Effect" —"
Irony alert: The unusually chilly global-warming summit

Just because it’s cold right now in the place where you live does not disprove basic climate science
“How can there be global warming, it’s so cold out?” asks Grandma.
“Global warming, am I right?” shouts Uncle Bob from the porch as you shovel off the driveway.
This is one of the most common misconceptions about climate change. If someone tries to disprove decades and decades of climate science by pointing to abnormally cold weather, agree that yes, sometimes it gets cold. Whether it’s called climate change or global warming, it does not mean that cold weather will just stop happening.

Just remember you all up north. If it was not for "global warming" you all would be under a mile of ice still and the glaciers would be down to around southern MI/WI (depend on which glacial epoch you go with).
As a geologist, I say, the seas go in, the seas go out, climate change has been going on since before man was here and will chug along when we are long gone. Just the nature of the beast so to speak.
My opinion is man's impact is small and not worth messing with. We really should be worried about population control but that is a much more scary and sinister concept for most folks to consider. Solve the population problem and then we don't have to worry about burning fossil fuels as much.

"Climate Change" is when you go from the farm house to the outhouse!

The time to panic is when the climate stops changing. Until then, drill baby drill.

It's all BS, and has been for the last 40 years...
It does, however, deliver some funny moments as the "experts" show us just how smart they are.
Not long ago a bunch of global warming scientists took a ship to the Antarctic to document how all the ice was melted and bears drowning blah blah blah. One problem.... the ice was so great that their ship got stuck and had to be rescued by helicopters.

It doesn't matter if you feel "it's all BS"; the science surrounding it is true whether you believe it or not....
50 years ago this month, the President's Science Advisory Committee to Lynden Johnson provided the data supporting the science surrounding it, and he felt it important enough to mention at a special message to Congress..... Doesn't seem he thought it was BS....
Watching people in forums like these try to navigate science-based topics is equivalent to me handing my neighbors toddler my loaded M&P .40... Truly frightening.... The evidence is all around you, and supported by vast amounts of readily available data from many sources. Yet, little effort seems to want to be expended on learning how things in the world/universe actually work.

I just saw on the news, we had the warmest January in the history of the earth, so stop complaining.
