This is a good heads-up, I'll have to check to see if I've got something similar around here... I swear, these dentists just double the costs knowing that people can afford to pay more out of pocket. The pricing is so high where I go. It was close to $1,200 for a damn crown that broke, and this guy just put it in 6-7 years ago!
Does this dental college do good work, or is like a scene out of Marathon Man, with Dustin Hoffman...?!

Yeah, no dental colleges around here. Well, I'm sure I could find one if I were willing to drive for 2 hours. Yours sounds like a good deal. I hope they get you fixed up quick.

The union I belonged to was always strong on obtaining non taxable benefits and an excellent dental insurance was one of them, some folks like having the cash up front but most of them wont set aside money for medical or dental problems, let alone retirement, live for today baby...
I mentioned before that I had a very strong adversion to dentists and let my teeth for for a bit too long resulting in cavities in molars and eventually crowns and bridgework. I have had at least three for four root canals and just received my first implant last year, which I am very happy with.
Needless to say I have had my share of dental procedures, including retainer type brace back when I was a kid. What I'm getting around to in my usual irritating way is to say, avoid future problems by dealing with your tooth sooner than later, the guys with practical experience have weighed in and it seems you are on the right track. Its a pain in the rear to have to pay through the nose for dental stuff but you will only thank yourself down the road...trust me.

Me?What I got was a Rock Island GI fourty five. Its only spoken once though.
However, the show I went to about six weeks ago netted me a Heritage Arms SSA twenty two Rough Rider and my first Smith and Wesson revolver.
Also,I FINALLY found someone who can post stuff forme on facebook and craigs list.So im HOPING this stuff will be sold and money collected--before next show this month--soI cn still get a couple more guns. If so?im coming home with a Henry--probably three fifty seven or fourty five--prefer a fourty five so I dont have to collect another caliber.

They did do a good job and I realy like the pricing. I had checked with a few other dentists here before going to Kaplan--and to get what I got from Kaplan--ranged ::::before office visit charges::: cheapest was one fourty--up to well over five hundred--thats with or without insurance.
Dental colleges are just as good as a regualar Dentist office--You have your fully qualified dentist--who are the instructors--and you get student helpers--who are the ones a few weeks away from graduation. And free teeth cleanings--cant beat that with a belt. These people dont rush you either and some cleanings can last about two hours.Almost forgot--Xrays dont cost you a cent.
The The Dentist movie--wasone that was on when I had another tooth--back in ninety six--that needed pulling. Strange coincidence.

I went to a barber college once and got the worst haircut of my life for $5. I think I'll pass on student practice dentistry.

Heh heh,the worst I had as a kid--was having two ingrown canines removed--the dentists hads were clammy and tasted gross. What was worse--is he was a heavy smoker and smelled like bad smelling tobacco. He also liked smoking when working on ones teeth.
I think since I was covinced into making the right decision--that things are falling into place and may yet--net me that Derringer at this show--and a Henry. Also,a member here has a WWI luger that I wouldnt mind having.

A BIG NAY on that one.I tried barber Colleges out too--and your correct on those but--Dental Colleges are safe. The Dentist does the work but they have graduating student that help. The students are their gophers--they go for whatever the dentist needs while watching the show. These Dentist/Instructors--are exactly as quaified and are full dentists--like any you will see who has an actual office.
Give one a try--you will not regret it.

Ringo, while you can say "They're still making teeth", it's nice to hang on to the originals as long as possible.

All of ya talked me out of a bad decision--and my appointment is next week. I wonder if there is any karma involved because--I went to Best Buy this morning and found a person who knows their electronical stuff and mentioned-before I even asked--that he posts things for sale for others online and gets good results for them. Im HOPING he works out because--I would love making an extra twenty-six hundred this month and in time--to be able to still buy at least two guns at the next gun show. Im wanting to do my part to keep Liam Neeson ticked off.
If my stuff isnt sold and money collected on by then? then its five long months till next gun show.

Just like anything, they are all people. Sometimes you get good ones and sometimes not. In your case you seem to have found a good one.
I've been to many dentists. My current dentist isn't the least expensive around, but he's awesome. I don't know what I'll do when he retires.

IF you have a dermal and a small round bit; you could get a friend drill out the cavity and fill it with small amount of porcelain patch.
but on the other hand you could just get the tooth fixed.

I feel that way about my regular Doctor. He'd BETTER not retire any year soon. Besides that--you ever been to a Drs office who displayes a pineapple grenade as his complaint dept? Its only got one complaint number--which is attached to the pin.

Me no but--Sarge Bill--who was a roommate of mine for several years--used to gum meat to death and then swallow.
Luckily, all the rest of my teeth are in good order. I THINK I still have a small cavity in one but cant see it if I do?

I wonder if she would notice but--I DO have a BB gun that looks like a GI fourty five. I bought it at WM last year for less than sixteen bucks.
