"WTB" Signatures & Misplaced Ads
With the proliferation of smart phones and other mobile devices, I'm seeing signatures that are included as part of the posts with "WTB" and other ads.
I also see user profile signatures that contain WTB ads.
That's just plain tacky.
Are we supposed to allow every post made on the board to contain ads?
That's a rhetorical question, so there's no need to answer. 
I know the answer.
The Rules have long stated:
10. NO Links to current or upcoming auctions or promotion of current or upcoming auctions or discussion of current or upcoming auctions, even in vague and general terms, or GunsAmerica ads, Guns International ads, or other internet listing sites should be posted without permission.
Links to CLOSED auctions and ads are permitted.
ADS selling or trading items on the public forum MUST be placed in the proper classified ad section.
Do NOT place ads in any other section of the public forum without prior permission.
11. Signatures are now limited to 30 characters and two lines.
The signature block is for just that- a signature. Signatures outside these limits or containing other data will be removed.
Website url addresses and email addresses are NOT allowed in signatures (.com, .net, .org, etc) without prior permission.
Don't sneak forum, website, blog, or any other addresses into your signature or signature like lines that you attach to every post above the normal signature block.
I would think it sufficient to say
" Do NOT place ads in any other section of the public forum without prior permission."
but I'll go ahead and address signature ads in the Rules.
Meanwhile, you can start editing your posts to remove the phone signature ads and edit your signatures.
OR-
You can wait for the Staff to do it.
Since that falls under the definition of moderation, it will be treated as moderation.

Ya know Lee, it's a lot like prison. You make a rule and it don't take them long to figure a way around it and then ya got to make another rule. It's why they make cattle prods

It amazes me how people that are given this wonderful forum free would try to find ways to get around the rules for their own greedy, ill gotten gains purposes. They don't deserve to be here at all. Just saying.

Some App's allow users to automatically include a customized signature in every message sent (including forum posts). The forum software has a similar feature, accessible in "User CP". Lee's point is, DO NOT use it on this board to promote a business, or website or advertise your "wants".
