I don't see any forum area for shows etc. information to be posted so I'm putting this here.
Well we wrapped up filming the second season of Arizona Collectibles last weekend and fully expect it to surpass last season. The program is already being called a big hit by the Channel 8 PBS management here in Phoenix and was one of their most watched programs last year.
The most expensive piece that came in for appraisal was a Charles Russell painting that floored the current owners at $600,000 to $900,000 estimate of value.
My appraisal area which is firearms and militaria was much more modest but we still had some striking items come in. The station management raised the allowable time span from 1898 last year up to 1950 and this helped.
The most interesting items to this forum membership that I appraised was a consecutively numbered set of FOUR G.N.R. Portuguese Lugers complete with matching magazines and holsters. I,for one, had never seen the likes of this before and with a total production of only 564 it was quite a feat for the owner to assemble them.
There were several other nice firearms that were also brought for in appraisal including other Lugers but unfortunately no Smiths.
The next season will premier on September 4 which is a Thursday at 7:30 local time.
