Shane: behind the scene pictures, guns included.
If you are kind of fond of this classic western you might like these behind the scenes Wyomong shots. Also, there's angles of the gunfights (there were only two) not seen in the movie including the moment Wilson catches a bullet.

One of my all-time favorite movies. Shane's SAA had no front sight, maybe so it wouldn't get snagged on the too-short holster. He's strictly a hip-shooter, so he doesn't need it.
Jack Palance (billed as Walter Jack Palance) raised the bar for a western badass.

Probably the most amazing fact about this movie was that the studio was afraid it would be a dud, so it sat on the shelf for a couple years after it was completed.

I've heard it said that the sound engineer kept turning down the volume on the gunshots because they were "too loud," driving the director crazy, since he was trying to make them shockingly loud.

It's also one of the first movies to show somebody reacting violently to a gunshot - when Wilson shoots the farmer and he flies backwards from the impact. Routine now, but it was shocking for its time.

One of my favorite movies- watch it every couple years these days. Spent some time in JH after leaving Yellowstone in 2012-- MAN, was it hot-- no fireworks on the 4th because it was so dry-- that whole trip turned out to be 11,030 miles-- LOL, hope to do something of a like trip this Summer, this time the SW, Calif and North, back through Montana and ND then home. Sure hope it works out.

Watching the video and looking at the pictures brings back a lot of memories of that great show. Thanks for posting.

Im not bashing it because its not one of my favorites--only because of that irritating kid. That said--I love the actors, the scenery, the music-of the movie. Its a definite must for a collection of Westerns.
