Default Another bear (Polar) thread

From a story in the St. Louis Post Dispatch yesterday. The St. Louis Zoo thinks they have received permission to transfer and take possession of a polar bear from the Buffalo Zoo.

A hunter killed an adult polar bear and then realized that it was a nursing mother. He tracked back to the den and found an 18 pound cub. He wrapped it in a parka and got it safely back to civilization and finally to the Buffalo Zoo. That was two years ago and the 18 pound cub now weighs 850 pounds! Polar bears must love Buffalo chicken wings.

I think the cub has a lifetime contract making holiday Coke commercials.

I don't see why anyone would want to shoot a polar bear in the first place , but at least the hunter tried to do the right thing regarding the cub.

^That is one of my all time favorite commercials! It should have aired on the Super Bowl!
