It's tragic. No one knows the demons inside of someone's head.

This is going to sound awful, so I'll try to choose my words with care.

I have always thought that suicide should be one of the undeniable rights. If somebody wants to kill themselves, who are we to say they can't?

They should have a sanctioned humane way to do it. Have a waiting period, after you first sign up. If after 30 days you still want to do it. Supply a painless efficient way to do it with dignity.

Give your family a chance to say good bye, and have at it.

The original MASH movie comes to mind, "suicide is painless, it brings on many changes..."

It is a selfish act by a selfish person, nobody who knows or sees somebody do it should feel any guilt.

For me, it would never be an option, no matter how bad it gets, I'll find a way to deal with it.

One of my wife's relatives was living in a bad situation and felt that there was no other way out. While he was on the phone to his mom he shot and killed himself. Police officers at the scene desparately tried to talk him out of shooting himself but to no avail. Mental health in this country has always taken a back seat to any other form of health care and you have these folks who desparately need help. Because there is a stigma that has always been attached to someone who has had mental care or been seeing a physcologist for help. I think that the stigma has hurt way more people trying to get their lives back on track than anything else. Frank

I would only think or suicide in a situation where my health had deteriorated so that my living was a burden to my family. At that point, I think a person should be able to choose to have a medical means to end their life. I have known several people who have committed suicide and I agree that it is a selfish act.
