Default My wife just earned a wife of the year award

I have recently had health issues that had kept me down for several months. I have always been really healthy and a very busy body and it led to me being pretty depressed about not being able to do anything and being stuck in the house for months on end. Finally was able to start getting back into functioning right about a month ago and have been really happy getting back to work and able to slowly get back to being myself. My wife knows how hard this has all been on me and it opened her eyes (heck mine too) to seeing that I am not Superman, life happens, etc.

Yesterday she asked if I wanted to go check out cars. What I didn't know is she already had one picked out for me. She bought me a new Roush Stage 2 Mustang GT!! She knows how much I enjoyed my Mustangs in the past, but then watched as through the years I let them go due to other life responsibilities that were more important to our family. I am completely stunned, I am used to being the giver and this just really floored me and left me totally speechless.

Default I don't think....

I don't think taking care of yourself is irresponsible or selfish. WTG wife. We give up a lot in our lives. Some things we outgrow, maybe they just aren't as important as before compared to the welfare of your family, but if you've done your haul and have cut too deep, 'therapy' is in order. I'm really glad you got something you wanted instead of needed. I can't afford a new car, but maybe now and again I can get a new gun or some shooting supplies.

PS That is a real beaut! Give your wife a big hug.

My wife is a keeper for sure, our personalities have always clashed just enough to keep things real.

Does your wife have any sisters?

That's therapy on four wheels. Drive it in good health and remember to give thanks for a wonderful wife every time you turn the key.

Good on ya both. Enjoy the drive...it's not about the destination, it's the getting there.

Great woman. For my 35th birthday my wife bought me my first Harley so I could get ride of the old junk I was riding. We are hitting our 38th year of marriage. Sound like you have a real keeper too.

Your wife sounds a lot like mine. A good wife like that is a blessing and a treasure. We're both very lucky men. I was forced into an early retirement due to health (loss of balance) and must use a cane or walker and can no longer drive, and my wife simply dotes over me. To help with my depression, she found a Ruger Mk II 50-Year Commemorative Model complete with the deluxe red case and silver inlay on the receiver's markings and gave it to me for just "being her husband."

"My wife just earned a wife of the year award"

I was getting ready to argue that point until I read about the Mustang...

Congratulations on both of your winners sir.

I hear what you are saying. So far this year my wife has bought me a new corvette and a dodge charger. Both are beautiful

For Christmas I have asked for the storage case to hold all of my Hot Wheels....

LOL on the hot wheels. You had me going! I thought your wife must be rich. My late wife knew I wanted a Corvette so she bought me a model car and said here is the only Corvette you are getting. A couple years after she died I bought a real 1981 Corvette. I still have the model 1981 Corvette she bought me.

Yeah OP you have a really wonderful thoughtful wife. My wife seldom ever bought me something I would have bought for myself. Let alone an expensive ticket item like a car.
