Thumbs down Flood disaster in Cache, OK

We have friends in Cache, OK that were affected by the recent flood. They live close to a creek and had to evacuate since the creek turned into a rushing river. The water came into the back door and they ran out the front door to the truck trying to get away. Within 8min the water was over 5' high and it pushed their truck off the road. They (2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog) had to break out of the truck and climb on the roof waiting for rescue. Luckily there was a firefighter unit with a boat. Now they stay in a travel trailer. They lost their house, vehicles and most of their personal belongings. We will take in their daughter so she's out of the disaster zone and then we will help them to clean up the mess.

They mostly need manpower to clean up the mess. Friends gave them a travel trailer to sleep in and a vehicle to drive back and forth.

Some neighbors there also need help. One of the neighbors is 70yrs. old and can't do much.

If you would like to help in any way, shape or form they sure would appreciate it. Just let me know.

That's tough! Glad they made it out OK! Wish them the best on clean up. My brother lives just north of them near the Meers Store. He has a tiny creek that I've only seen dry, that's been flowing steady.

From the looks of the damage and water level in the house, that was some flood. If I were closer, I'd lend a hand.
I guess if you look for the good in any bad situation, most of Okla. had been drought stricken the last several years. Hopefully that will no longer be a concern for the moment.
