Default Re-contacting a member

Hello everyone:
Would we consider it polite to re-contact a member concerning an item that was for sale months or a year ago?
A member listed a revolver for sale once, I contacted him, but then decided not to buy. Now, I have changed my mind, and would be interested in his revolver.
Should I pursue this member by PM, and hope this would not be an annoyance to him?

Sure PM him. He might still have it and it might still be for sale.
