Well, this was a waste of 2 hours & $20
Came to the Fort Worth gun show to shop for powder.
Turns out our local Fire Marshal doesn't allow smokeless powder in the building. The dealer who told me said every other show in the D/FW area allows it.
Didn't do much to prove my opinion of gun shows.

Was that at Will Rogers? Haven't been to a gun show there for about 4 years, but it was there then. I remember buying some powder and primers. Back when I lived just outside FW in the early 1980s, it was a really good show. Last time I went, it was only because I was visiting someone there. I wouldn't go back again, it was not nearly as good or as large as formerly.

They were selling powder the last one I went to. I wonder when/why they started that? Their prices are getting way out there. I read they are charging to park by the hour now. I really wish they would move to a different venue.

Another example of a minor bureaucrat overstepping common sense with his authority.

It may also be a case of the insurance coverage for that facility being too dear or unavailable.

I quit going to gunshows at Will Rogers when they started charging to park. I've bought powder and primers there before, but not since they began the parking charge. It's the city of Ft. Worth that collects the parking fees, iirc.

Yep, Will Rogers.
$10 to park, $9 to get in.
Last one for me.
BTW, I just messaged them via Facebook that I won't be coming back till they find somewhere else to host where I can buy powder and isn't so dammed expensive to get in.
Here's their page:

$19 is far out of line for the Will Rogers show. If I find myself in FW on a gun show weekend, I won't bother to attend based on my last experience. 4 years ago, parking was still free, at least I don't remember paying to park. I also used to attend the gun show at Market Hall in Dallas, which was pretty good. Do they still have it?

The gunshow at Market Hall is Dallas Arms Collectors and still the best one around here, imho.

Do as you will, but I hesitate to buy reloading components at a gun show or garage sale. You don't know where they've been or for how long. Many of those sellers lug that stuff around all over the country, and may store in questionable conditions.
I'm also not too thrilled about buying loaded ammo at shows. I wouldn't buy .22 ammo there, especially, if only to discourage hoarding it for such sales. Ammo may not be the latest generation, with improvements.
That's one area that I'd shop stocking dealerships for.
I attend shows mainly to buy guns, knives, books, and holsters.
Just one man's thoughts.

I went looking for powder, but found a great deal on .357 cases and Hornady bullets. Also, powder is hard to ruin, especially if it is unopened. If it is open, a look and a sniff tells a lot. Powder has been impossible to find and I'd take somewhat more chances if I found some at a gun show.
Just another man's thoughts.

Soon as I saw the thread title I thought, there's a man who has been to a gun show today.
