Default MidwayUSA

I haven't done any bidnez with them for probably 3 years, mostly because of their inflated prices and astronomical shipping fees.

That being said, I got a flyer the other day advertising a .30 cal and .50 cal metal, mil-spec new ammo can for $24.99 for the pair.

So, me needing a place to store my ammo other than on my shelves, I had been planning on picking up a couple of ammo cans.

I checked at different on-line retailers and couldn't find a better price.

Alltho Midway is gonna charge me @$12 shipping, $37 dollars delivered seems like a good deal if they are really metal Mil-spec cans, so I ordered from them.

Half an hour later I received an e-mail stating my order had shipped.

If it's the same thing that's happened to me with other retailers, they say they have shipped but actually only printed the shipping label and it says it has shipped. May not ship for a day or two in my past experience with other sellers.
I do admit Midway is excellent to buy from if you can get a good price on shipping.

I've done business with Larry & Brenda Potterfield since they had that nice gunshop with his brother off the Fayette exit of I-70... back in the mid 1970's, pre Midway USA days........ they've always been straight up with our family & stood behind their products.... shipping costs are high for everyone now... and prices for reloading supplies still make me groan...... but they're the same or higher at ever mail order wholesaler/retailer now... not just at Midway USA.............I

Smoke...f you can find me a good source of once fired brass, bullets/primers/powder at 1990's prices do not hesitate to send me a private message here... heck I'd be tickled with prices from the 2005.........

I ordered a couple boxes .38 S&W by Privi on Tues. late afternoon. It'll be here Fri. Price was good too.
I also like the way they round up for the NRA.
I do like Midsouth too.

Midway usually has what Im looking for and often has the lowest delivered price when combined with discount codes.

Before ordering anything on backorder get a thorough understanding of Midway backorder shipping policy.

Default Is it that far out of line?

It seems that it's usually a wash depending on who has the better prices, has it in STOCK, and cost of shipping. Is Midway that far out of line? I've hear that CTD is not the least expense place to shop. What are the ones you think are best, cheapest, fastest?

Delivery time is usually excellent.

I want it, I want it soon and Larry delivers.

Part of the cost for any business is the stocking of
so much product. It might sit for a day or years
and that's idle money.

I've found Midway prices competitive and realistic.

The return policy is also excellent. No problems there.

Years ago when I belonged to a large, active gun club they would have an annual event where people would pool their orders to save money. The single shipment would be delivered to club headquarters in a semi-truck.

Thats a pretty decent price on G.I. metal cans, there is a local Army Surplus that sells them for around about the same price with sales tax, etc. They are heavy so shipping could be a problem, the only benefit from local is being able to pick through the pile. I like the 20mm cans for ammo storage, they stack nicely and hold a ton of stuff. I have one filled with bricks of assorted .22 ammuntion, it must weigh all of two hundred pounds.

Most are very similar, if you have a Cabelas close-by, you can have your items shipped to the local store for free. Others may do this also.

If Cheaper Than Dirt was the last place on earth to buy what I wanted, I would do without!!!! These feeling are left over from their post Sandy Hook doings.

That's fantastic, but I don't think it applies to most of us.

I give Midway all of my business,if they have it in stock.I don't mind paying extra for shipping for execellent service.I don't have the time to price shop every site to save a buck or two.

I haven't bought too much there, but I have gotten excellent prices on knives from time to time. They were the only place I could find a spare mag for my FEG. They only had one in stock, and apparently have not replaced it since, because I check back from time to time to see if I can get another.

I like MidwayUSA. I pretty much order most of my shooting gear from them or the equally good Brownells. I have to say that us firearm lovers are lucky to have such nice companies to serve us. Many other companies in other fields are not nearly as trustworthy. I was recently sent a book signed and written by Larry Potterfield of MidwayUSA. It was a pleasant surprise.

Never had any better customer service than Midway's. Oh, but rest assured I've had much worse.

A few years back their shipping charges became a sore spot for me as well. With feedback provided and listened to by them, it's a non issue today.

The best value isn't always the cheapest. With the exception of hazmat related items the majority of my online handloading purchases are made at Cabela's and Midway.

I've been happy with Midway and Brownells even those times they might be slightly higher. I stopped dealing with CTD when I received their flyer in the mail and got online same day to order the 5.56 ammo they had on sale. It showed a higher price on their website so called and was told they had a price increase and wouldn't honor the flyer price. I canceled the order and haven't dealt with them since.

Not only do they have good prices, but Larry is one of the largest contributors to the NRA and area shooting sports in the country. I'll always shop them first.

Ordered the ammo boxes @ 3:00pm on the 2nd, paid $12 shipping costs and USPS put them in the mailbox this afternoon, the 6th.

Now, that's some pretty speedy shipping with the 4th being a holiday and all.

Ok, one more post regarding Midway.

The ammo boxes are brand new, no dents, scratches, labeling, nada.

The first two I received were so nice, I ordered them twice.

As before, ordered them, half hour later I received a confirmation e-mail, another 20 minutes I am told "Your order has shipped".

I will be doing business again with Midway.
