I just received my pistol permit here in central New York and decided to order myself a new 629 Classic from a local dealer. The dealer told me that he had never had a Smith and Wesson take longer than 10 days to be delivered. Now it has only been about one week, but as I'm sure many of you can relate I'm getting a rather significant itch to have the revolver in my hand. Another dealer I spoke to said that his rep had told him not to expect any Smith and Wesson handguns until Christmas time. I'm curious if anyone here has recently ordered a new Smith and Wesson and how long it took to arrive? Any feedback would bring some kind of relief.

Ordered at my LGS about 3 years ago.

I had to wait around 6 weeks on my new S&W Model 63 (8 shot .22).

Cost me extra also, because while waiting for it to arrive I purchased a new Ruger SP101 8 shot .22

I guess the gang at the shop knows how to remove money from my wallet.
