Default Revolvers Are Still in Some Police Holsters

I was visiting the city of Philadelphia yesterday and noticed a uniformed officer carrying a stainless revolver. We spoke for a few minutes after I introduced myself as a retired LEO and asked about the S&W in her holster. She said she had been grandfathered since she had over 25 years on the job and felt better w/her thirty-eight. We stayed at the hotel across from the Justice Center and saw plenty of cops on their way to court. All of them, to include those not in uniform, carried a Glock. Guess there are still some hold outs in the ranks of our LEOs.

You should have went inside the criminal justice center, take the elevator to the 7th floor, and sat in on any courtroom. You would not believe the testimonies, verdicts, and sentences that come out of that building. They should remove "justice" from the criminal justice center and just call it the criminal center.

Anyways, enjoy your stay in Philly and be safe!

Where you will see a number of revolvers in the PPD is on the PHL Airport squad. This is where people fight to get sent there and a number are 25+ year officers with revolvers and gray hair. Dave_n
