Thumbs up Lee Barner is one of the nicest people you will ever know

On the Internet, in person, where ever. He can not be beat for his kind, thoughtful, genorisity.

I have been the recipient of his gestures before as I am sure many others have been who have been around the forum for some time.

You try to get ahead of him and dad gum he has struck again.

Thank you Lee! May you have many blessings through out your life.

Tony,

There are lots of good folks on this forum just like Lee (and you too ).

That is one of the reasons that I have hung in so long, and even drug my dear old dad down here....I think that this is the only gun forum that I am registered on still.

You guys keep up the good work

Be careful, Lee is going to have to buy a new hat.

I couldn't agree more. In the five years I've been on the forum, he stands out as one of the kindest & most personable gentlemen I have had the pleasure to deal with...and that's saying something considering the number of fine folks we have here! Tony, thanks for acknowledging it for us all.

I had the good luck as a newly minted airman fresh out of Air Force basic training in 1975 of having then Staff Sergeant Lee Barner oversee my training in tech school. He was a good man then, and apparently still is. Thank you sergeant Barner, it was you and people like you who steered me in a good direction.

I've know Barner for some years now. We've bought, sold and traded a few guns. Me, him and Jessie Clark often get together at the Jackson, TN gun shows. Conversations can get real interesting.
Yep, he's a pretty good ol' boy. I'm glad to call him friend.

Hey Barner, where were ya last weekend?

OK, now that this thread has started let me pile on as well. There are several members here (if not most) that are really nice. And I sure don't mean to slight ANY of them. But Lee Barner is seriously right up there at the top! I wasn't going to put him in the spotlight but I just can't be silent any longer. I'll give you just two instances lately (and there are several more) where Lee has gone WAY above and beyond in the generosity department. You may remember not too long ago he posted a cool picture of a Boyt 1911 WW2 holster he had that bore and inscription of a man stationed at Luke Army Air Corp Field Az. My dad was there back in 43 and 44 so I commented how I really liked that holster. Well, without any warning, about 4 days later that holster was in my mailbox! Just like that. Probably about a $100 item if I was guessing. Then just about a month ago I posted I had acquired a Remington Rand 1911A1 and was so into these guns and the books about them. I lamented how the Clawson books are unobtainable due to being out of print and sky high in price. Well, you guessed it, a few days later I found a genuine Clawson collectors guide in my mailbox. I really think Lee got as much pleasure out of giving me these items as I got from getting them. Now, I have to be VERY careful about commenting on anything he has that I like or he will just send it to me! As I stated earlier, there are others here that have been extremly giving of their time and talents to me here on this forum. But honestly, right now, I would like to be more like Lee Barner. I'm really glad to call him my friend.
Sorry for the long post. No, I'm not sorry either. It needed to be said.

Roger
