Those who do not know. this was a mini-series on ABC in the late 80's from a book by Herman Wouk Dealing with the trials of two families From just prior to the start of WWII thru the end. Starring Robert Mitchum.

The book was two volumes. They are on my library shelf still (yes, I did read them, back when my eyes worked better).

Netflix had it for streaming a while back. I am hoping they get the sequel, War and Remembrance, as well. It's a good series.

The winds of War and War and Remembrance are excellent series. Ive got both on DvD and am actually thinking of watching them again soon--after I finish allmy westerns.
Captain Victor "Pug" Henry will understand that I have to watch my westerns.

War And Remembrance was the first one I think ABC aired and Winds Of War was second. I have looked for both on DVD and can't seem to locate either one. I think both were excellently done mini series'.

Winds of War was first. I remember watching it the first time round. Then a year or so later--they replayed it to introduce War and Remembrance. These were amust watch--since we didnt have cable TV in my area at the time.
