We all know you can't fix stupid but what if...??
Saw this online and there are numerous links doing a Bing search but apparently it's not real...At least not yet, anyway!
What if there was a phone app that could predict the consequences of ones actions no matter how insane?
This is how an app might look in the future...

I think that is what a wife is for. I can believe some phone could replace a wife, as they just don't have the volume capacity required, or that screechiness quality that only a wife can master.

A stupid person wouldn't use the app anyway.

Over a lifetime of research I've found it often is.

Bing popped up on my screen one day and it took Norton Power Eraser to remove it.

I'm pretty sure the "Epic Stupid App" already exists. Free download for sure, lots of folks have it evidently. Joe

If they had enough brains to use the app they'd just do it wrong anyway. Some things just can't be fixed!

I wouldn't be too sure about them not having the brains to use the app.I've seen some pretty stupid things done that took some planning to accomplish.
Same result in the end,however.

My parents kept using Bing and IE and every time I'd visit I'd have to uninstall all kinds of malware. Over and over again. I'd install Firefox and try to get them to use it. They went through three different computers and she kept asking why they have so many problems. I sat them down with IE/Bing and FF/Google side by side and did a couple searches in Bing and pointed out when flash ads would load and when it would sometimes block the popups and the ones that popped under from IE. They finally started using Firefox and Google and I haven't had to 'fix' their computer in over a year.
Google and Firefox are both far from perfect but when a company like Microsoft refuses to fix its browser and allows their search engine to be supported by malware and infect their customers they are way far lower on the list.

Some goof would check the app, jump anyway, then sue the publisher of the app for not protecting his stupid low life spoiled hipster ***.

Duck Duck Go doesn't track your searches and is as reliable as Google and doesn't have all the MicroSloth baggage.

Me too. I also have a Do Not Track on my computer and right now there are five sites tracking this forum page. The predominant one is ALWAYS Google. They track everything and I see no reason to help them any more than I absolutely have to.

Depending on the level of stupid, it may be that the phone app is their best chance for long term survival.

Some day, you and I will find ourselves in a tavern laughing at them and sharing our mutual hatred for hipsters and emos

You offer no proof that Bing and/or IE is the cause of your parents problems. Are you an IT tech? I've been using Bing as long as it was available and of course I've always been an IE person.A proper firewall along with a good antivirus program is all you need.
How is a search engine supported by malware??????????? I can search for anything my heart desires and not get infected by anything. You don't get bit by a snake just because you looked at it. There's not even a remote possibility of anything bad happening unless my antivirus program gets shutdown somehow. My computers have been clean for at least ten years.

One has to be careful because in a few years the younger generation just might not know what the reference, "use the Yellow pages" will mean! How often does one even SEE a telephone book these days?

As far as stupid goes, I'd much rather observe and study it than try to fix it.

I watched a number of the top/side ads on the Bing/msn page. MS contacts company A for ads. Company A subs out some to company B, B hires C to write ads, etc. Somewhere down the chain one with malware gets in.
You've probably seen a complaint or two about ads on this forum, the owners of this forum are not intentionally trying to infect you they just work with an ad company and some get in every now and then. But forums are volunteer run, they can't police all the ads. A company like MS has enough people to police their ads and should not be allowing intrusive advertising and malware to come from their own site. And yes I sat there and saw attempts, and yes I've worked in IT since the 90's, I work with firewalls now and don't mess with the desktop anymore so I don't have to deal with **** like that. The average home user (grandma/grandpa) doesn't understand antivirus, software firewalls. Thats why I switch them to a safer browser and steer them away from sites who commonly allow malware to close the majority of the holes. It saves me work cleaning up after them.
Like I said, a number of years using IE/Bing/MSN with cleanups every couple months to Firefox/Google over a year without having to clean off anything.
Nothing is completely secure but just staying away form the known highly insecure makes a big difference.
A few years ago I was on the phone with MS tech support (server 2003) when he gave me a MSKB #. I plugged it in the MSKB site which used Bing for a search engine and it didn't find the article. I copied the KB# and pasted it into a Google site search of the MSKB page and it found it. The MS tech was amused
