I got lucky yesterday and found a like new box of "Black Talons" in 9mm for $5. Don't know how old they are but the original price sticker reads $9.95.

I think I'll buy a lotto ticket tonight and see if my luck holds.

No pics but I stumbled upon a decent set of (GA) N checkered targets w/ SL cutout at a flea market yesterday. They had just put them out. Doubt they'd still been there by Sunday.

That's the same exact lee loader that I started reloading with in 1970. I still have both the 38 spl and another in 44 spl. Loaded many rounds before I could buy a single stage RCBS press and dies. Still have those as well. Just checked, and I think I still have every piece of reloading equipment I ever acquired!! Help!! I'm swamped!

That thing actually works, give it a try sometime. I always thought it would be cool to take camping. With a supply of bullets, powder and primers, you could have a lot of fun. Back then, I was just starting college, in a small apartment, and had a lot of fun loading 38s, and later, 44 spls.

I started out on one of those Lee Loaders too in the early seventies. The one thing I remember most is my hand being numb from pounding those cases in and out of that die. I moved up to a RCBS single stage later and was amazed at the speed I could load.

I had a set for my 45-70. IIRC they cost me about $10 new. Always pondered the odds of blowing myself up while pounding those big cases in and out of the dies.

Yeah, in the warmth of nostalgia, I forgot what a pain they were to actually work with. Nice to hang onto though, could always be called back into service in case of some cataclysmic apocalypse!! Or another ammo shortage. I've also saved every boxer primed brass cartrige case I've ever fired (well almost). And that's a bunch. I'll bet I'm not the only one on the forum that does that, either.

I started with a 9 mm Lee Loader for my Model 39 in 1973. I moved up to a Rock Chucker within a couple of months and never looked back. While I give Lee credit for getting young people who only know enough to buy new tools started the better plan is to put the money into a used single station. The step up is inevitable and you are left with a Lee Loader that will never be used.

Xfuzz Texas must be like Indiana in as much as there are still people that have things to sell that don't make it to the internet.
Good score - I have a barn full of stuff that I've picked up and I'm sure I'll need it .... someday.
