Default Your experience in commuicating with Ford's refinishing?

Sent them an email with an attached photo of an old Colt totally devoid of blue I think I would like to have them do. That was 3 weeks ago with no response. Anyone able to talk with them?

Yeah, but it's not easy. I've had them do two jobs--a minor one hard chroming a 1911 MSH, and a master class refinish on a Model 19. Both impeccable, but slow.

Communications are not their strong point, but I'd use them again.

Many businesses simply don't respond to emails, or don't even read them.

They have a good rep. I am waiting on a Model 19. Nice folks. Even called me on a Sunday to check how I wanted some work done.

I live sort of around the corner from Ford’s; it is an understatement to say that they are busy.

I had a little-bitty Gun Smithing job that I needed to have done the correct way, so I went over there and talked to them.

Sure, no problem. So I left it.

I tried calling, usually no joy, when I did get someone, the only answer was soon……. Or he is not here right now.

In the end the only way I could talk to the GS was to go to the business and wait for him. So I popped over from time to time to politely inquire.

While waiting I had the chance to see some absolutely beautiful guns.

I don’t have any idea how long a full refinish would take; I am at the “no green Bananas” stage of life so I never asked.
