two of the guns i usually have loaded at home , s&w airweight 38 & a ruger sp 357 . both 2" barrel .
just this week shot both at the local outdoor club. tried to be realistic and with distance , bout 5-7 yds. one handed semi rapid fire . good hits with both guns . . out of total 30 rounds most all rounds found their way to center chest area. 2-3 maybe missed the silo outline but that was all .
notes : the 38 was controllable with 130 fmc practice ammo . seemed accurate . but some 38 lead free +p 132 gr. umc brand was horrible in the recoil dept. ! wont buy any more of those .
shot the ruger 357 2nd & the recoil with 110 gr. winchester personal protection ammo seemed fairly mild after the above umc rounds !
it DOES make a big difference , depending on what your gun likes , as to the preformance of you and the gun . got quite a bit of practice ammo for these two & other guns . going to the gun show this week-end , will try to find some better defense ammo for my 38 snub , i know there are rounds made specifically for short barrel guns . if i were left up to those umc rounds i would almost never fire that particular gun !
