Senator Fred Thompson Has Passed Away!
Just heard Ex Tenneesse Senator Fred Thompson has passed away. He lead a very colorful life and career! Senator, actor, and even dated several high profile country music stars.

Yes he is, and I lost all respect for him due to those ads. They are a rip-off. I also don't like Henry (whiney butt) Winkler for doing those ads too.

He was born in Colbert County, Alabama, where I live. He lived a few short miles away in Colbert Heights as a youngster before he moved to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, which is only about 45 minutes from me. Great Senator, and a great actor. RIP, Fred, I will miss your witty and timely posts on Facebook.

Don't forget he was also Minority Counsel during the Watergate Hearings and is generally given credit for passing to Howard Baker the question, "What did the President know and when did he know it?" We all know how that turned out.
RIP Fred.

Sad to hear, I really liked him, not only in Law and Order, but Hunt for Red October. He was a guy that told it like it is/was either as a actor, TV or in Govt.

Forget the acting---if you followed his life, he was a great statesman.
They are FAR and few between.

He was also a US attorney in Tennessee, where he sent the state's governor to prison. They made a movie about about it and Fred played himself...launching an acting career,

Sorry to hear the sad news. Even sadder that he was only 73, especially when you are in your mid 60's....

I didn't care that much for him and I liked Henry Winkler even less. I never liked him in Happy Day and could just barely tolerate him in any of the other roles he played.

Always admire the man, he made sense when he talked. Also enjoyed his appearances in the movies. He was a class act in his public and private life. I will miss him.

The man had a brass set going up against his own party during Watergate, seeking the truth.
RIP Senator.
