Default Rancid Mil Tec

I have a bottle of some wonder juice called mil-tec. I've had it for some time. Last week I went to use it and the stuff reeked like something crawled in the bottle & died.

I've never had a lubricant do this. I was going to wipe down a weapon prior to carying it concealed but it would have stunk up any place I went.

Does anyone have any ideas about this? I'm afraid to put it on a gun, it sure smells like something that would take the finish off in minutes.

I have no idea about your product; however The old military bore cleaner is one of the worst smelling chemicals I have ever encountered and yet is still the best solvent for Mercuric based primers! I still wouldn't us it on a concealed carry piece! Every old veteran in 25 feet would know that you were carrying!

Sir,

Check the label and see if it is called "Militec-1". Or it might be spelled "MiliTec-1. I have a small bottle of this and haven't noticed your problem, but then it's been quite awhile since I used it, and I haven't had it out to check it for awhile, either. If I were in your position I would simply pitch it -not worth taking any chances with it, in my view. Others may differ, and I may be wrong, of course.

Regards,
Andy

I have noticed the same thing with an old sample bottle I got years ago. It was a little rank. You can always go spearmint with froglube!
