Default Looking for Good Pistol Training in 2016

I'm looking for suggestions for some good pistol training in 2016.

Would like a one-day, defensive pistol class, ideally in the Southeast US, but I'm flexible to arrange travel to the class.

What instructors or classes have you taken that were effective?

Is there anyone out there that you would travel to to take a class with?

Thanks in advance.

Rich

Tactical Defense Institute does a very good job. They have a website and are located near Cincinnati.

I would travel with Elle McPherson, celebrity supermodel, to take a class, go to the motorcycle races, or to shop at Aldi. Or just about anything else you can think of.

HITS, in DFW.

Morrigan Training (Bill Jeans).

See what is being offered at Southern Exposure Training, in Lakeland FL.

Look for quality first, then make the money and travel work.

Thumbs up looking for good pistol training in 2016

Depending on your previous training, if it is a handgun, I would start with the NRA Basic Pistol Course that is an 8 hour course. The next progression would be the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home one day course and the next would be Personal Protection Outside the Home which is a two day course. These last two courses would be advance and tactical with the advance portion as an add on the Outside the Home. You may want try Universal Tactical Academy in Frostproff as they have numerous advance and tactical courses for the basic and advance students in duration for one, two, three or even five days. I had the opportunity to take one of the advance classes to renew my NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Certification several years ago for the three days and shot 3000 rounds. You will shoot at least 1000 rounds in handgun and they do have both the handgun and tactical rifle classes. Try their website and you will be impressed. The Instructors are great and some or all or Military experience.
