Default Prayers please...

I don't know who is still awake, but our neighboring city here in Missouri could use prayer. It looks like a matter of a few inches will decide if most of the city will flood tonight. This is a record crest (highest on record ever for this location) and forecasters are not sure if the levy will be high enough. Literally, this is a matter of inches. Please pray. I have several friends who live here. They have evacuated but obviously a flood would be terrible. We will have the answer tonight...one way or the other. Thanks friends.

Paul, I lift up you, Candi and all your neighbors. This flooding has been nasty business indeed.

In His name.

Hard to make sense of this Christmas week onslaught of meteorological disasters worldwide. I've never seen anything to equal this widespread distribution of misery by mother nature.
May God have mercy on you.

I live 35 driving miles from the Arkansas state line in the middle of I-40 bridge. I'm in no danger from the river itself. The news at 10:00 this evening said there are flood warnings and imminent danger for all of eastern Missouri. I have seen the power of the river and and can only hope you and everyone else are able to make it to safety. Prayers are with you all. We all wish we could do more.

Are you referring to Valley Park? The Meramec is supposed to crest at 6am I believe. As of an hour ago all seems well with the levy.

Yup. Waiting for the crest. They think it will hold but very close. All this mess is going to move downstream too.

Looks like the levee and flood wall have done the job.

Continued prayers for those who live downstream.

Thanks everyone.

Prayers sent for all affected by the rising waters. The river is forecast to crest at various cities here in Mississippi between Jan. 10 and Jan. 18. Right now, it forecast to be just below the 2011 flood. So thanks for the continued prayers for all living downstream. Thankful the levee and flood wall that were bigride's concern appear to have held.

Still looking good this morning, allegedly lifting the evacuation order sometime today.

Hopefully towns to the south have been preparing, wishing them luck.

Just announced a boil order for Jefferson County residents.

Default Prayers for sure...

Prayers for all those folks in Missouri. I've got a nephew and his family there. We also should mention Texas and other places that go hit by tornadoes and flooding.

Prayers sent. The last 20 years of my career were spent in STL.

Hope all my friends are high and dry.

Used to be a neat little gun shop in Valley Park some years back.

Hope everything goes alright for everybody in the path of this. I moved from South Maryland Heights in 1957 to the South Central part of the state. We had minor flooding with a few roads closed but nothing like y'all. In my prayers tonight.
Peace and good luck my friend,
Gordon
