Default Overheat a handgun?

I had an interesting stoppage today when shooting my 9mm CZ SP01. Midway through a magazine, the slide failed to go fully into battery. It took some effort to retract the slide and eject the live round in the chamber. I was on the sixth magazine of a drill I like to do before it is time to go home. I place seven spare mags in pouches along my belt and practice loading and firing (aimed fire) as rapidly as possible. I have done this same drill four or five other times without any stoppages. This time it choked.

I was using a ghetto load of mixed factory generic 115gr FMJ. I keep a big ammo box that I dump ammo in and just loaded the mags from it.

It was about 17 degrees outside. The gun had been outside for about 90 minutes. It seemed to get noticeably hotter today than in the past. I burned my hand examining it when I was done and I could actually feel heat from the pistol through my pants when I holstered it, even after several minutes.

Was my stoppage likely a result of overheating the pistol or was it likely just cheap ammo and time to clean the pistol?

I had a total of 14 magazines, planning to get another six or seven with the idea of the pistol being able, need be, to hopefully fire them all sequentially without jamming.

On my 75B, there were some shards on the top of the slide grooves on the inside of the frame, left there from when they milled it. I knocked them off with a fine file, and its noticeably slicker now.

I use Mil-Comm TW25B lube. It seems slicker than the others I've tried, and stay where you put it.
