Your #1 Most Favorite Handgun
Your #1 Most Favorite Handgun
That's the question, no poll this time since I got somewhat beat up on the last one
For me this is somewhat of a hard question but I would have to say it is my S&W 629. I guess it is because it was a handgun I just had to have and shall I say the first major handgun I was able to buy at the time after some good changes had occurred in my life!
At the time this was the handgun that made me say WOW!

That's a tough one, but it's a toss up between my 629-4 and my 686-4+. But I do love all my Smiths.

I have a few that I consider favorites, but...
This is the very last gun (handgun or otherwise) I'd ever part with, and holds the #1 spot on the list:

K-22 a pleasure to shoot and probably the best .22 revolver ever made.
I do love the rest of my meager collection but the K-22 is my favorite.

For once I have no problem.......
I'm usually incapable of making a choice for the 'best' but in this case....
Favorite revolver = model 686
Favorite semi = model 5943 Third gen.
Honorable mention revolver = model 36
Honorable mention = Shield

My 1911 and 6906 are a close 2nd and 3rd to my Bersa Thunder. Blasphemy I know, but few guns have ever felt so at home in my hand. I won't go shooting without it.
It gives me great satisfaction. That's what it's all about.

gotta be this un
I have shot this gun a lot. Shot 50 more last Sunday. It is accurate, easy to point, solid and it has got to be nearly as tight as a new one. Bought it years ago. Just a pleasure to shoot with 158 grain .357. I love it. Second is probably my Colt Government but it is pretty far back of this one.
peace,
Gordon

If I had to pick a favorite- as opposed to favorite to shoot, or most useful, or something like that-
1964 2" SB Model 10-5, my grandfather's snub. It's a work of art to me.

I have a few pretty nice hand guns, but to be honest my true favorite is my Gen 4 Glock 19. Love the beavertail, and my extra 33 round mags. I also use it for a suppressor host. It really is, to me, close to functional perfection. I'd leave my P&R Wheelies and my 1076 in the safe if I ever had to grab one handgun and run for it, or use it.
But I like this one too.

Of all My Handguns I have to say My favorite one is My 9mm. CZ-75 SP-01,Tactical.
The things a tack driver and never gave Me any trouble. It shoots anything I feed it .The only problem is its size and weight. If I wanted to carry it I would need a good shoulder holster.

My 4" 27-3 .357 Magnum. It was my first handgun and went with me through my first LE academy. Still have it...original Targets are safely tucked away in the box.
Followed closely by this:
A Colt Combat Elite .45 ACP refurbished by Wilson Combat. Bought it the day I got commissioned in the US Navy in 1987 and sent it off for a well deserved rework about 2 years ago.

If favorite is defined by hours of use... Ruger Mark III for recreation, Ruger LCP for carry. My other handguns are pretty much equally talented at holding down the safe.

Hard choice, but I'd have to go with my Mod. 66-3 snubby I bought for off duty, concealed carry when I graduated the academy. It's been with me the longest of any of my handguns, and like me, it's now a classic

M-17 hands down. Have carried it and shot it more than any
handgun I own. I have shot small game, varmints, and other
things that aggravated me for 52yrs of my 65. I often think
I would have been better off with just 2 handguns, 17 & 29.
Become highly trained on them, instead of messing with dozens.

Sorry no pix but, its a tie for favorites.
My wartime Walther P-38, and my newest an Auto Ordnance G.I. .45---which may be upgraded to a Springfield G.I. .45.

A very, very hard choice for me. But if forced to pick just one, it would have to be my H&K PSPP P-7. The gun designers got it right with this one, and I still marvel at the engineering that went into its design. If I get a chance later on, I'll add photos of mine.
Regards,
Dave

My favorite started life as a 629-1 with 8 3/8 barrel. Rechambered to 45 Colt and cut to arof cylinder for acps in full moons. Fit a 4" 45 barrel and it has become my go to gun.

Talk about hard choices!
My favorite pistol is a Colt MkIV Series 70 45 that was my first purchase in 1976.
My favorite revolver is a S&W Model 57 that I bought in the mid to late 1990s.
Honestly, all of my handguns (especially my Masterpieces), are my favorites, or else they would be history!

Boy, that's a hard question. Sticking with centerfire, I would have to say it's an honest toss up between my 6 inch S&W 629 Classic Hunter, and my first generation Kimber Custom target 1911 .45 acp.
I own quite a few variations of the above guns, and others besides, but the two above are my "go to" guns for serious shooting chores, and have killed more game and targets than any others, and are among the last that would ever be sold.
Honorable Mention: Self defense - My Glock 26. Its a tool, and it just plain works.
Rimfire - My model 18-3 and HS Victor. Both are quality, and excel at what they do.
Now the rest of the guns in my safes are jealous..........

Boys, this is as hard a decision as choosing your favorite child, or your favorite hunting dog....
Favorite double action revolver: 686 4"
Favorite single action revolver: Ruger Vaquero 4 5/8 357 Stainless
Favorite pistol: S&W 1911 E series Stainless

Tough question. Like asking which is your favorite dog. For now this 6 1/2" 629-4 Classic Power Port has been following me to the range more than the rest. I'm really partial to my 44 mags and spls.
