Not sure what to make of this one:
Gun shop owner, son killed over $25 firearm repair fee, sheriff says | Fox News

I did not see it posted elsewhere.

All over a gun that wasn't ready to be delivered. Makes you wonder what was said and who drew first.

Things are getting crazy now. Biggest problem with this is bad publicity for all gun owners. Our local news comes on in about 15 min. Might have more on it . I'll be sure and watch. This is regional news here. Will post again if they say more. Nobody can fix stupid.

Twenty five dollars is it worth two lives. Why are people so on the edge?

Long term economic issues and other stuff we can't mention here.

Default All Sheriff would say about the incident.

Picayune, Miss. They identified the owner and son, 44 and 17. The customer and son, 52 and 29. Customers' came to pick up a gun and got angry because there was a $25 service charge even though the gun had not been fixed. Customers' son allegedly shot both owner and son with a .40 cal. pistol after the owners wife had called her husband in to settle the dispute. All else said investigators were trying to determine who fired first after some pushing and shoving. Owner and son dead, customers both wounded, the father in the back. Go figure, over $25.

$25, $25000...what's the difference?
What's a life worth? Just plain stupid and I hope the shooter gets at least life.

Great. Just what we need. This is exactly the "bloodbath over a trivial matter" that basically never happens, but which people opposed to any kind of civilian carry always warn about. Hopefully this doesn't get too much play.

Oh, the hoplophobes are already spreading this story via social media. I think the best response to that is to point out that the reason this is "news" is because it happens so rarely, that places where lawabiding citizens are armed are usually very safe.

I ain't saying diddly until I know more, most are on the side of the shop owner but maybe HE started it and the other guy's son finished it.

One thing it proves though-gun fights at close range are ugly and maybe everybody goes away with a prize i.e. a bullet.

I vaguely remember a case in Florida, would have been in the 80s, where a guy rode his bicycle to a small engine repair shop and took his trusty Mossberg Persuader along. He shot and killed a number of people over a dispute about a twenty dollar lawn mower repair bill.

It was all over yahoo hate news yesterday. As the norm, the antis came out feeling sorry for the perp and NOT the victims.

Default McLemore Gun Shop, Picayune Mss.

Shop owner Jason McLemore and son Jason. Both dead.. Customers, Andy McCool, father, and son Michael. Son in ICU. Father was shot in the back and in hospital. Still under investigation as to who shot who when. Story sounded like owner's wife was present.

I have been in this store several times. It's located in the Henleyfield Community about 15-18 miles north of Picayune, just across the Pearl River from Bogaloosa, La. near Old River, an oxbow lake that I fish in on occasion. It's been several days since this happened and I still don't know anything more than was initially reported. I have worked several cases with the Pearl River County Chief Deputy who is investigating this case.

Over the years I have found the shooting fraternity to be among the nicer people that I encounter. Yes, we have our weirdos and the occasional idiot but never to this extent. It would be nice to see a little clarity about the events. The harm as to our appearance before the general public has been severely damaged with the help of an unsympathetic media. Friends and fellow shooters, Take a deep breath and step back. This hurts us all.

regards

yashua

That shot in the back part smells mightily of bad.

I've personally run into a shop owner who was a raving sack of..well you get it,swear to gawd he asked me to leave because of the way I was dressed!

Never went back and they closed up because of bad booking and they may have got into it with the ATF last I heard.

If you told me that idiot shot a customer I wouldn't be surprised.

I had my work clothes on after work, just got out. Welding and fabrication we get dirty. My hands and face were washed. My LGS had a new m1a sitting on the counter. I moved it a inch to view the price tag. The store owner ran over and put it back on the wall. I was interested in buying it. I just left before the words flew. You gotta know when to hold them and when to fold them. He's the south end of a north bound donkey.

I have to accept the things in life I can change and let go of what I can't change. Life is a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. Up is good, down is well you know.

Sounds like a GS owner I knew who was a miserable such-n-such. The sheriff of Kleberg County somehow force the jerk to close up shop. Last I hear, they are retired and living in Kerville.

My LGS just lost me as a customer after treating me like dirt. Insults."people like you" were at the forefront. I guess he had something against people with disabilities. I dont wear that on my sleeve but felt insulted enough to tell him he just lost all of my respect.
I mention this because after reading about this I can honestly say that someone else might have reacted very badly and have it escalate.
Not what you need in a gun shop. I worked in 2 gunshops and have never seen any altercation. I guess we respected one another and were honest. Very sad that one got so bad.

Default How about a shooting over a dime?

This story about the gun store shooting brings to mind an incident up in Montana fifty or so years ago. A customer in a bar puts a dime in the jukebox right about closing time. Bartender comes over and pulls the plug. Customer demands a refund of his dime. An argument and shoving match ensues. Bartender pulls a .38 from back of the bar and kills the customer.
