your chance to own a mig 19 or 21
Per this feature the Government of Albania is auctioning some Warsaw Pact aircraft. GE once made a conversion set for the Egyptian AF for Migs. With a good engine it might be fun.

I saw a F-4 down at the Ruidoso Airport.
The engines were gone but the afterburners were sitting there.
When you sent out two J-79 engines for a rebuild, you better have on your big boy pants!
And you better have some big boy money!
Then you can take on those MIGS!

Nothing like a jet fighter to convert money to speed and distance. A coworker is partners in a T28 which I think he said burns 50 gallons per hour of avgas.

Ah those T-28's. Used to crash crew for VT-5 in Pensacola, FL. We could back seat for carrier qualifications on the Lexington if we wanted. I never had the cajones to do that.
My hats off to the all those who qualified.

The Czech L-39 is probably the best choice in small jets.
There are 255 privately owned just in in the US.

I'd like to own one of these if I knew how to fly and had the money .. little side by side 2 seater ..
A-37B
Got a few hours in one back in the 70's when in the AF .. I worked in a training squadron teaching Iranians and S Vietnamese how to fly .. My boss a Major took me up on some range sorties bombing the range at Ft Polk, La ..
He even gave me the stick a few times for 15 to 20 minutes .. fine little jet ... was a lot of fun ..
