What do you listen to when talk/news on radio gets unbearable?
I hit the button for classic rock and roll on NYC FM 104.3

I would rather have gnats take up residence in my ear canals than listen to talk radio.

The only talk radio I can put up with is Limbaugh, I have enough classic rock on my phone and Pandora to cover the rest of the day.

I don't listen to talk radio much because when I'm in my car I'm either going to work and it's the start of the day, I haven't had coffee yet, I just want a nice drive to work......Or I'm coming home from work in which case I'm tired of hearing or reading the news and I just want some to listen to some Beatles or Zeppelin or Pink Floyd Billy Joel, Tom Petty.....you get the picture

I work outside most of the day. I listen to the mooing of cows, horses whinnying, birds chirping, geese honking and chickens clucking. Every one of them makes more sense than any person on talk radio.

I don't listen to talk radio. I can form my own opinions. the local radio is more talk and sales pitches then anything else. when I listen to music I fire up Slacker Radio and choose 60's rock or classic rock.

My local library has an awesome selection of books on CD. I usually go through 2 or 3 a month listening while I'm in the car so I don't listen to the radio much except for news on the hour.
Just finished a half a dozen of Louis L'Amour books I'd never read before, and just started catching up on some John Grisham books. I actually look forward to listening to them while I'm on the road.

If not listening to the Great One, easy music or '60's R&R.

Talk radio junkie here. Love a few of the local hosts out of Milwaukee and then Limbaugh. A little Levin in the evening every so often...but if I need a break my favorite thing to listen to is the muffled sounds of 22LR's going off from a couple good old S&W revolvers. Or in warmer months out of a CZ 455 Trainer...life is good.

It's never been anything I've had to make a decision on.
My radios are for listening to music, period.
I've never listened to radio news broadcasts or talk radio in my entire life. Seriously, never. Not once.

I do not listen to talk radio. I listen to two stations near me WLLT 107.7 FM and WSEY 95.7 FM,both play 60s and 70s mainly. When I'm the Chicago area for my part-time job I listen to WLS 94.7 which still has a few of the guys from WLS AM when they played music.

Must be the only redneck here. 60's & 70's country. Can't stand the new stuff and burned out on R&R when I was in my early 40's ( or about 15 years ago ).

I used to listen to talk radio almost exclusively. Now I still listen to the local guy sometimes, but mostly I listen to AFR (American Family Radio).

Only once in a while.....
I only do talk radio once in a while. If I don't have my tunes with me I might listen to some. I don't like politics, but a show like Dean Adell the doctor were pretty good. OLD Larry King at nigh was good.

I will flip it over to 106.1 which is a local country station that plays "classic" country exclusively. Otherwise, my ipod is loaded with old country and bluegrass.

Mexican radio. All music, and a few jokes. No news, no politics, not that many ads. Accordians and tubas...."it's like polka, only played on stolen instruments "

No talk, no news except traffic reports both my wife and I keep it on KC's 101 the FOX most of the time. Classic Rock.
TV? We have not had cable in years. We have an HD antennae that gets one of the major networks and HULU off the internet for some things, like "Hell on Wheels". And My wife really got double ticked when they killed Lilly off.
HA, Ha, talk radio and TV, do they still run ads? Never mind, the endless commercials is another reason I quit them.

Just play CD'S of my choice since Regan was president. Not one news cast, no TV or newspapers except the dinky home town one, like the funnies! Too many books from great writers await.

When I'm at home by myself, most of the time I like it quiet. Well, not really quiet, I'm 3 blocks from the ocean. I can hear it with the windows closed. If I want music, I'll pick up a guitar.
However, sometimes when working on a project, I'll go to youtube and either play one of my playlists, or pick out something completely random, and let it play through my TV's sound system.
In the car, if I'm listening to anything, it's Bob Dylan, Steely Dan, or the Beatles.
I'm not a big fan of talk radio.

I hate any kind of jabber so much that I just listen to MP3 music CDs in the car. Currently, broadcast radio has about 40% commercial content and I just can't stand listening to that noise.

Sirius radio subscriber. I flick between cable TV news stations FOX, CNN, MSNBC (for the fun of it) and FOX Business. When I'm "news'd out", I go to the comedy channels also on Sirius. Howard Stern has repeat segments during the non-broadcast hours and some of his interviews are riveting.

Either Rosie O'Donnell or The View. Then talk/news radio doesn't seem so unbearable.

I have recently just started listening to podcasts. (These are recordings of people talking that you download and play on your computer, iPad, etc.) There are a lot of them, all sorts of genres, and so far the ones I have encountered are free.
I was listening to one today called "Detective." It features a retired Denver homicide detective speaking about his career experiences. Some of it is pretty grisly, but it is also quite interesting stuff.
I tried another, called "Hello from the Magic Tavern," which seems to be a sorta Tolkien meets Fire Sign Theater blend. It is amusingly zany, but I think perhaps not for me.
I think podcasts are an intriguing medium.

Used to listen to talk shows in my workplace shop. Now retired the only radio I listen to at home is in the "Man Cave" in the evenings. The Alice Cooper radio show of course!

I switch from Fox news (they do talk over each other a lot and I have to leave) or the Patriot Channel (until Beck comes on and he gives me a headache) or if it all starts to get on my nerves I go listen to Joel Olsteen for a while. Sometimes it takes classic rock to clear my head.

George Thorogood is good for clearing the head.

I listen to the little voices in my head, recently one visits late in the evening and asks "Is there room for one more?"

Free audiobooks
I listen to talk radio, Dennis Prager, Mike Medved mostly but when the presidential races started two years early I went to Librivox.org & downloaded some books.
They're all out-of-copyright books, but I LIKE Mark Twain, Edgar Rice Burroghs, Arthur Conan Doyle & the like.
You can listen to Winston Churchill & hear about when the Maxims met the Dervishes or whoever they were.
Interesting stuff.

I only listen to Limbaugh's show when Mark Steyn guest hosts.
