I finally won something!!
I belong to my local Eagles club and the club has a monthly gun raffle (which started at the Super Bowl party). I won this months raffle, which is a S&W Victory Kryptek High Camo 22LR. I was given a certificate to take to a LGS (Fin, Fur&Feather) to receive the gun. I can stay with the Victory or trade up. First time that I won a gun. I'm anxious to get there. I have friends that have a Victory already and have had the opportunity to fire one. There are a very nice pistol.

I used up all the luck I ever had when it came to raffles many years ago when I won a six pack of Coke at a PTA fund raiser... I was drinking Pepsi at the time.

Glad for you Ollie, all I do is donate money to good causes. They have lots of Smiths at FFF, tough choice. The Victory should be a fun gun, gonna display it somewhere in the near future?? Larry

The last thing I won was a box of "Ninja Turtle" action figures when my kids were little (almost 30 yrs ago). Haven't won a thing since!

Very cool! Only thing I ever won was a set of golf clubs - and I don't golf. Someone once asked me if I wanted to shoot some golf, and when I found out there weren't any guns involved, I was really disappointed.

halvenut, maybe you are on a roll, gun first, Powerball next.
If you cook them right, low and slow, golfs can be quite tasty!

Possibly at the get together. I'm leaning on just taking the gun. I've shot a friends and they're really nice with a lot of features. I really don't need another 22, but I kinda like the gun and the feature or interchanging barrels etc.

This is the first time that I've ever won something like this and it feels good. Prior to this I had the same experiences as you.

Good for you! Always a nice feeling
I won a very nice Martin Guitar a few years back, but all the guys I played with back then became extremely jealous. It was weird, not a one of them congratulated me. Went out of their way to make condescending remarks. Needless to say, I got rid of them, but still have the guitar!
Always made me wonder what kind of hate mail you'd get for hitting a big lotto. Anyway, glad you won it and CONGRATS!

Congrats. I 'won' a draft notice once. Wait a minute, that was before the lottery system so it wasn't a win either. :-(

I forgot to mention in the original post that I won the pistol on my birthday, which made it that much sweeter.
