Trying to figure this out...
A Superior Court judge is allowing a lawsuit to be heard filed by victims of the Sandy Hook school shootings.
Quote:
Bushmaster, manufacturer of the AR-15 assault weapon used in the attack in Newtown, Connecticut, had asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit, saying it was protected by a 2005 federal law blocking lawsuits against gunmakers when their products were used in the commission of crimes.

I'm thinking that just because the judge will hear the case it doesn't mean the plaintiffs have a chance of winning.
Here's the link...Maybe someone can enlighten me as to what I'm missing in the article.
Lawsuit can proceed versus maker of gun used in Conn. school shooting

It's pretty easy to explain. You have to be smart and well educated in law to be a judge, but you don't have to have any common sense.

Quote:
Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis declined to dismiss it, saying the gunmaker, a unit of Madison, North Carolina-based Freedom Group Inc, had not proven that the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act stopped her from hearing the case.

In 2005, Congress passed the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA)1, a federal statute which provides broad immunity to gun manufacturers and dealers in federal and state court.

Even if the "judge" can hear the case, does she have any ability/authority to enforce any decision ??
This is in a state court - any action against the manufacture would be appealed to the federal court ...
This action is just part of a "full employment and lawyer fee entitlement" plan.

It is obvious that you people do not understand who is responsible for the deaths at Sandy Hook. It is John Deere! Plain and simple, they made the cotton picker, that picked the cotton that was processed to become guncotton that produced the nitrocellulose that became the gun powder that the original gun ammo produce purchased to load the ammo that was purchased by Stanza mother that was placed in the gun safe that Adam broke in to for the purpose of stealing the guns and weapons from his mother, while he killer her and went on the rampage at Sandy Hook. Aw shucks, I think the real responsible guy here is that cotton farmer that planted the cotton seed that later became gunpowder. Aw ****. could it be mother nature that produced the rain that caused the cotton seed to germinate? we have to get to who really caused Adam Stanza to kill his mother, steal the weapons and go kill all those kids.
