Default Longmire Returns!

The good news- they are shooting a new season of Longmire right now,
Mostly in Santa Fe and North NM.
Now for the bad news- it's been announced that this will be the last season.
The new shows will probably be on Netflix in Sept.

No excitement here. Craig Johnson gets the guns very wrong in his books (See Cold Dish and Junkyard Dogs) and the portrayal of Wyoming in the TV series is offensive to this native.

C. J. Box is a Cheyenne author, a much better writer. His Joe Pickett series about a Wyoming game warden would make better series. IMHO.

It's a TV show for Pete's sake, shake it off. I watch it on Netflix. Great show!

The good thing about knowing that it will be the last season ahead of time is that they won't end it with a cliffhanger and then cancel, as almost happened once before ...

I just hope they bring back a good "country-themed" law enforcement show. First Justified ends and now Longmire is ending.

Way back during the first few shows of the first season, there were a more than a few overt anti-gun sentiments evident in the plot line. I never watched it thereafter, never will in the future.

Her uniform resembles Suzanne Somers in "She's the Sheriff". The laundry really should make good on shrinking it up like that.

I never got that from the books, but now that you mention it I remember being puzzled at first that a police show in Wyoming would give anti-gun vibes. I ignored it and it kinda went away.

Interesting, After the first two books of Box's I read I considered him to be anti hunting, anti gun and one of the poorest researchers ever. He had someone digging 14 foot deep holes to bury a car outside Livingston Montana during the night. This would have involved one of the deepest extendahoes in one of the rockiest areas on the planet and taken a good operator 6-8 hours. The character did it in one.

I said to my fiance too, "Why does she never button her top 3 buttons?" Don't get my wrong, I'm not complaining, just an observation

Those buttons don't reach, my friend.

Not that I've noticed, of course.....

Great to hear about Longmire, one of my wife and I's favorite shows. We tried to watch that new one with Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott, but it was, well, stupid. JMHO. (And my wife thinks Sam Elliott hung the moon, so for her to give up on the show is significant.)

Netfilx raised it's viewers to over 80 million this year. But yet their stock plummets? Hmmm....

Longmire is a great show and one of my favorites (on cable or netflix)
I didn't like the show Justified until it came available on Amazon. Now, I wish they'd bring it back.
