casket flowers and thanks
In a earlier post I had shared where I had lost my kid brother Saturday, and I want to thank you for all the response's of sympathy.
he loved flowers and hunting, so I wanted to share a photo of his casket blanket that a local florist created using turkey tail feathers from a fan mount of a nice turkey, that he had killed a few years ago, as well as incorporating a set of 8 point antlers, that he had taken last deer season
(his last deer) along with the turkey calls that he hunted with, and some color matching spent shot gun shells that I emptied with a bang Sunday afternoon so the florist could incorporate them into the blanket.
the bronze tail feathers were a perfect match to his bronze coffin.
I think he would have appreciated this manly display on his casket!

That is so thoughtful..
Turkey feathers, deer antlers and shotgun shells! When I think of flowers, I think flowers, not something that personal. Great job.
I wonder what the florist could do with some shiny rifle and pistol brass?

Deeply sorry for your loss. I "liked" your post for the arrangement, not for the circumstances.

Wonderful, very appropriate and touching arrangement.
You have my sympathy and understanding, ky wonder. I lost my younger brother a little over a year and a half ago. We had many wonderful, funny fishing and hunting memories, and I hope you and your brother did too.

Heartfelt condolences on the loss of your brother. We lost our sister a few years ago and two favorite cousins more recently, all younger than I and it's a pain that fades, but never goes completely away. The casket arrangement is a fitting and beautiful tribute.
