Default The Boonies, The TV Show

Have you guys seen The Boonies on Nat Geographic Channel?
These folks live off the grid.
One guy lives Mountain Man style in Idaho.
Looks nice in the summer, not sure how easy it would be to feed yourself and two horses up there in the winter.
Another dude lives on an island in Lake Michigan.
Also nice in the summer, cold place in the winter.
A couple lives up in a treehouse, like an elevated cabin in the deep woods in Washington.
They work to get more stuff up into the trees.
The last guy is the one I really don't understand.
He lives in a cave in the Arkansas Ozarks.
That's a place that gives me the creeps.
I have been in a few caves here and there, but I was always glad to get back out in the sun!

I wouldn't want to do that. For a few weeks maybe? How could I stay informed on the S&W forum?

Thinking about caves for a minute, what are the advantages and disadvantages?
1. Caves are always one temperature, neither too hot nor too cold; about 54 degrees year round. (At least down South.)
2. Caves are dirty, usually with lots of bat **** on the floor. Smelly, too.
3. Your female partner won't bother you in a cave. You can lock the door and pretend you aren't there. Tell the bats to keep quiet, too.
4. Many caves come with running water. Very soothing to fall to sleep to, and handy if you have to get up during the night.
5. Caves are dark. No need to wear a sleep mask to keep out the light- no light.

That's about all I can think of. I don't want to live in a cave.

I've watched that show several times and I put it in the same category
as most of the other "reality" shows on tv. It's entertainment, not to
be confused with actual reality.
