A NEW TITLE
I took a little test today and got myself a new title.
I'm a Carmudgeon. Here is the test:
Are you an old man?
Are you ill tempered?
Are you stubburn?

Are you difficult?
Are you disagreeable?
Do you not usually socialize with others?
Are you often in a bad mood ?

I'm not there. Yet.
At almost 57, I'm sure I'm seen as old by quite a few. However, in the group I hang with (here!) I'm seen as a youngster by quite a few as well.
I told my friend Martin, who just turned 65, that yes, young guys see us as old. But it would be a huge error to mistake us for old and feeble!
And I really try to be nice, although it doesn't always work out that way.
My wife would point out that I have more on that list in action than I would be willing to admit!

Jokingly I call myself a curmudgeon, but at almost 79 I don't make the cut.
I'm not unpleasant, difficult, or usually in a bad mood.
Stubborn and opinionated, sure, but very rarely nasty about it.
I don't think that nothing has been any damn good since 1955.
So I guess I don't qualify.
