Someone doctored the picture to blur the tailhook, so it must a naval version, designed for cat-a-pult launches.

I think that the tailhook is used for landings, not launches. And, anyway, cats are well-known for four-point vertical landings.

The reason you can't see the 'tailhook' is because in cat combat operations the arresting wire is over head not laying on the landing deck like we mere humans require. This cat is ready for landing with gear down and tail 'hook' in full upright position. As the cat lands under the arresting wire the overhead tail 'hook' goes into operation and snags the wire. I'm sure our Navy is looking into this method as we speak. :-)
