NE Ohio Bunch, fall meeting .... NOW WITH PICS
October 1st at North Olmsted Gun Club 5743 Bradley road North Olmsted Ohio 44070 from 9am till 3pm
Hope the summer was good for everyone, it's flying by fast. Looks like October 1st from 9am till 3pm ish, or when ever it ends!! Display your favorite S&W, we will most likely have some neat guns show up. Try to keep it all S&W. You can sell guns, boxes and accessories but PLEASE not a full table full. We have about 20 8 foot tables available to use.
FOOD, bring a plate of food to share to feed abt 10-15 people and we'll have enough. Main courses, side dishes or deserts. Be creative and make it good. If not sure what to bring, ask your wife. I will buy the plates, napkins, plastic forks etc and what ever we need to eat with. All you need is your food. Cold drinks, water and fresh perked coffee will be provided.
Bring a comfortable lawn chair to sit in, the club chairs are uncomfortable wood torture seats. Everyone seems to bring good conversation, we'll need it again. As I think of things I forgot to mention, I'll add them later.
HOTELS are off route 480 at exit 6a & 6b on Great Northern Blvd on the north side. This is one exit from the meeting. There is a mall and lots of restaurants, it's a safe area. If anyone has a question, post it here and someone or me will answer it. DON'T ask the moderators, they won't know.
Directions, takes I-480 to the Stearns Crocker exit and head north to Lorain rd and turn Left. It's the first red lite from I-480. Go abt 1 mile to Barton rd and turn Right. At the first stop sign turn Right on Bradley rd. Go to 5743 on the right side about 5 houses down. Larry

Been on my calendar for quite a while now.
Talked to Larry at the last Berea show, told him I'd be adding a post to the last 'bunch April 2016' thread, but since it was only going to be a few more weeks until he posted the Oct 1st 'bunch' thread,I held off.
I've been selling/sending off to around the country OEM 3d gen magazines. I have a large quantity and variety(sorry no 10mm mags) that I acquire at gun shows. If anyone planning on attending the Oct 1st bunch needs mags,PM me with your needs and I'll let you know if I have any. You're not committed to buy them if you change your mind,I just don't want to send any out that bunch attendees might want.
Also, brass for reloading. As a cartridge/brass collector,I have a lot of the uncommon stuff. If you have a need,pm me.

The date has been on my calendar for about four months, I am definitely planning to attend. Will probably be down at the family farm closing up the RV for the winter earlier in the week. Not too sure if I will display this time. The members have seen nearly everything in my modest collection except for a few odds and ends. I will try to sweet talk my co-worker for some more pizzas.
All the best, Bob

Bump so we can get a few more nice S&W people to join us OCT 1st. Just a mention, we saw one bear in Cade's Cove in a tree eating cherries. We waited till it came down to the ground and my wife was close enough that it hissed at her. Told her to get back, as usual she didn't listen. Friday as the sun set we were on the upper balcony of the cabin and a bear crossed below us close through the back yard. It was cool to see 2 of em, Larry

Bear pics will come eventually. Went to Fin Feather & Fur today and you can buy 2 Fed 325 packs of .22 rim fire for 20 each. It's just over .06 cents a round about the same as a brick of 500 for $30. Only a few days left.
Having a garage sale on August 19-20. If anyone is looking for some TOOLS PM me or stop over. If you know a younger person that needs some, send them. Everything is cheap, did body work for my whole life. Don't want to see these tools anymore, priced to sell. May put a few guns out, not sure yet. Larry

Went back to FFF this afternoon to get a 380acp die set, didn't buy the set on Thursday went I got the Bersa 380 as I didn't know if I had a 380set already(too many die sets sitting in the basement). Also picked up the 2 box limit of the Winchester 22lrs' AND the Federal 22lrs'. Went to McDee there and got 2 big macs(coupon buy one get another free). Ate in the McDee lot and then walked over from there back to FFF for more 22lrs'-2 boxes of the Wins and 2 of the Feds. 1700 rds of 22lrs' today.
Then early evening went to the Avon Cabelas to check it out and then to Cedar Point for some night riding.

I was at FFF Friday, thought if I was first in line I would get the 22 ammo. Being first in line meant the first to pick out of the bucket, not first choice picking from the items on the table. Won a floor mat with FFF on it, nicely done. It's right by the bathroom door I use more often. Bought the 22 fed ammo but never thought to eat and go back for seconds on the ammo, nice touch Denny.
At the weekly Tues morn retired shoot I may have a new gun. It's a 4" 586 supposedly in nice shape. Just sold a 6" but the 4" is the one I always wanted. Now have a 581 & 586. Hope it works out tomorrow. Gotta quit buying more guns, Larry

You just might get real lucky and get a factory round butt 586-4 (?) IIRC from the mid 90s....... 1995-96.. found mine when I asked the seller to pull the Pachy's to check for rust...................never sat it back down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you're really stuck on a revolver, the Victory SW22 is a great semi-auto. I'm also thinking of selling another 22 semi, PM if you're interested and we can discuss it.

I do consider it just a 'start'.
Thunderbolts, yes, they were on sale at the FFF store at Camp Perry 2 years ago. They work flawlessly in Henry lever action,Sears 3Tsemi-auto (Winchester 190),and Remington 597 semi-auto.

I seem to have more FTF (fire) with Thunderbolts than with any other .22rimfire!

Yes,thunderbolts do have a bad rep,I was expecting many FTFs' but surprisingly got none. So now that I said that, those thunderbolts are gonna be mostly FTFs' from now on.

If you are traveling a distance, try to car pool with someone. Anyone hear from Dave from PA lately?
I passed on the 586, it was the new one with the lock. The lock is OK but I hear the bluing is not what the earlier ones had. The finish is more sensitive to some of the cleaners and the older ones were a higher gloss. It was tough to say no but I did it. Took the 581 (thanks to Denny) with me and shot that. Larry

Here's a bear pic. It was taken in Portage county. I was spring turkey hunting. Took me a few minutes to gain my composure and get my phone out. Didn't take a turkey that day, but that's fine. It was a nice day spent in the woods.

Looking forward to seeing you guys.

Been there twice(for me it's on the way to Cedar Point). Employees seem friendly and eager but still learning all the details of where everything is located. Surprised at the amount of stuff in the reloading area. Employees seemed inadequately knowledged in ammo and reloading realm, hopefully with time that'll change. I had to help them with customers in the reloading area. The cafeteria is not like the one in Dundee, which has great burgers. I anticipate going to the Avon store many times. Still have yet to hit the new FFF on the way to Cedar Point.

Enjoyed the spring meet, I plan to be there with a "modified" S&W display. Maybe a Beretta too for BAM-BAM.

Should be able to attend. Will have a Pre Model 23 to sell. It's in good condition. Asking $1,000.00. I will also have a Model 14-1 that is in very nice condition, but unfortunately there is a ring in the barrel. No bulge on the outside. May have other guns to sell also.

I'm not sure what I'm taking to sell or trade. I generally don't have a lot of luck selling at the Gun shows. Where's the back entrance? Ollie

the back entrance is off Eastland Rd,about 1/4-1/2 mile further west, from the field entrance, on Bagley. Then about 1/2 mile south on Eastland you'll see fairgrounds entrance. No muddy field, when it rains,it's a paved/cindered lot. I always use it.

When you turn left on Eastwood, you can see a red lite abt a 1/4 mile down. Just past the lite on the left is the entrance. Go to the stadium and go left, you are there. Larry
