Amazes me that these large stores are profitable given that you can buy most of their stuff on line. I do shop there often, so maybe I answered my own question.

I have hunting cloths in the closet that are 35-40 years old with a Cabelas tag on them. I have been a Cabelas "freek" all these years, even making a special trip to the Sidney store many decades ago. Absolutely love prowling the bargain cave. Back when it was just Jim and Dick Cabelas store and only west of the big muddy, the bargain cave only contained the stuff returned by users or damaged goods. They were a mail order outfit. Then Dick passed away ( hope that is correct, as one of them is still involved in the business) and they went public, so you can buy stock in the public company and moved east of the big muddy. I was excited as they begin to build stores only a couple of hours away, now I have two within one hour drive of my primary residence. One think I have noted - with these new stores and so many comming on line, there is a bunch of stuff in the bargan cave that has the new tags attached that is 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the stuff out front. Just bought the high end rain wear two months for about 40 percent of the "out front" price and determined that is must have been a last year model and I could detect a difference is a couple of zipper on the coat. I hope you enjoy and the gun library will have some great guns and I actually bough my much desired and looked for S & W 396 from them. Searched everywhere for one 7-8 years ago and found one in the Kansas City, KS gun library, now it is my constant companion. ( read - anything less that a 44 special is for wimps and women) Ha Ha

Have found many great deals in Cabelas used library. If you keep an eye out, you can snag $100 gift cards for $85 on a certain well known auction site. Add in a $50 off coupon with purchases over $400 you can make quite the saving with multiple gift cards and $50 off.
