All of my camping has pretty much been up on The Rim. Looking to take the kids during Fall break in mid-October. We typically go to Clint's Well, but the last couple of years we've had some whining about the cold (morning lows around 25 degrees).

Any suggestions for another locale next month? Someplace with some vegetation, weather not too hot/cold, not too crowded (we'll probably camp Sunday-Wednesday) and stuff to do/see in the area?

Two places we have camped, and really enjoyed.........Homolivy State Park and Canyon de Chelley. At the state park you can walk the trails and find lots of pottery chards.
