very good movie however Chuck Connors is very creepy. it is too bad that he didn't get killed much earlier in the movie

I liked it too but I thought Gregory Peck's character showed way too much forbearance to getting roughed up and too much reticence to "showing off". For goodness sake, he was a sea captain wasn't he? Didn't he have to live and work with some pretty rough types on his boat? That stuff about having to ride the dangerous horse and then fight Charlton Heston in private just seemed silly.
