Dexter,
The Jovinos were custom built by the John Jovino gun shop in New York city. They were some of the earliest large scale production big bore snubbies on the market. And by large scale, I do not mean that they produced millions of them, but they were an organized group producing a somewhat standardized product for the market.
Your 45 Colt Jovino is quite desirable....I would imagine that you have never seen another one like it in Cali.
If the condition and mechanics are good or better, I would estimate the value close to $2k or thereabouts.....the 45 Colt has a cult following and there are some folks that would give their right arm for THAT gun in THAT caliber. If you have the original box, docs, and the paperwork, add some more to that figure.
Gunsmiths like Behlert and Jovino are what spurred Smith & Wesson to produce short barreled N-Frames on a regular basis. They were a hot item then and still today.
Please post some photos if you have them....we all love photos (especially of Big Bore Snubbies
)

So......Who loves BIG BORE Snubbies?
