I like the one where he is in the sailboat and the kid is trying to get him back to shore, I'm trying my best.

I miss those old Chevy Truck "Like A Rock" Bob Seger commercials. It was always cool seeing a C/K pickup being rode hard or a Suburban conquering a mountain top with Seger playing. Much better and more understated than these silly truck commercials these days.

The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare. This is highly improbable or even impossible. However, said monkey could probably become an ace ad writer almost immediately.
It's not the commercials that worry me, it's the mentality of who is writing them that has me concerned.

I agree with all the drug commercials as a turn off. One would be better off to live with the ailment than put up with all the side affects. Depressed? Take this. It may cause your testicles to fall off or suicidal tendencies.
|
I strongly suspect if my testicles fell off I would most likely have suicidal tendencies!! At least a couple hours of separation anxiety.

A new turn-off commercial has started airing this past week. Cottonelle toilet paper with ridges. The commercial is OK until the very end where it says "Go Clean, Go Commando!". Uh, yuck.
Not buying TP from a company advocating no undergutchies!

I always assumed the two dorks in the Sonic ad were a gay couple. I mean, isn't it obvious? Who goes to a burger drive-in with another dude? At least they aren't flamers who shove their sexuality down our throats. They're weird and annoying enough as it is.

Well there is a 50% or so chance of appealing to a segment of the market ! 😜

I haven't watched a commercial on tv in a few years now...quite a few as I think of it. What I remember about them is that a very few might have been mildly amusing but none of them made me want to buy or even think about their product. There were some that made me want to avoid them for sure. It's all been so long ago I can't remember which was what.

Reverse mortgage advertisements, especially the one with Tom Selleck!
Wonder what his experience is with one, except for a paycheck?

Annoying commercials don't trigger me. I just tune them out mentally.
Besides, I can use the time to grab my tablet and let the forum know how my cats are doing.

Any of the ones that portray fathers, husbands or working class men in general as mindless buffoons. I mark those products in my "Go to H*ll" mental bookmark place.

Not sure of the auto (Volvo?) where quality family time is sitting in the car while the pooch whizzes in a wheat field.
The worst part is hearing some guy sing thru his nose. Wish I could tune that one out.

Probably 90% of commercials turn me off. Some of the Budweiser super bowl commercials were entertaining, especially the “sleigh ride” with the flatulent horse. I’d post the link but would probably get another 3 days on the beach.

I really hate the drug commercials, Hi I’m Phil Phillip and I had a heart attack or Hi I’m Joe Gizmo and I was diagnosed with Stage 2a flaming mentalities but thanks to the new drug Flemboyo,,,,then the lame music and the wonderful pictures of family picnics and pool side chats with some lame o music is playing!
I really could care less what these people were diagnosed with! I don’t need to know and I could care less,,,I have my own problems and I’m not running to my doctor to get these new wonder if they’re gonna work for me drugs!
That one guy with diabetes? they got dancing through the office to some lame music I’d like to clip him with a baseball bat to the knees! and give him some real pain!
These commercials really irk me.....
Remember Big Pharma don’t make cures,,,They’re making customers....
Okay rant off and back to your regular schedule with Rolaids.....

I hate the lawyer commercials. Were you injured in a car wreck? I got so and so 147 thousand dollars...in her pocket. Don't call those other wimpy lawyers, call me. I will get you what you deserve!. Sheesh, no wonder car insurance is so expensive.

How about "I got my title back at Title Max"?
By far the most offensive commercials recently are those campaign ads put out nationally in a media blitz by a certain political candidate.

Never quite understood buying insurance from a Gecko.
Actually, some of the larger Geckos can talk.
They say a phrase I can’t post here.
Not sure how Geckos learned to talk dirty in English!

In San Antonio, it seems half the local TV commercials are from those scumbags, there are about six different law firms. But I'm sure the TV stations love them. But they don't stop at TV commercials. Many billboards, and city buses are also plastered with their ads.

Have another one or two:
Hunter Ellis, the "ex Navy pilot" hawking those ridiculous products that aren't worth squat, or the tough guy, is it Tanto?, who hawks the unbelievable glasses that show everything in crystal clear clarity.

Okay, now I'm on a roll.
How about "My Pillow"? The products may be good (don't know as I don't own any of them), but the owner/inventor is irritating as heck and I mute the TV when he comes on.

Basically ALL of them. I particularly detest TV commercials from ambulance chasing lawyers and sleazy politicians.

And every weekend is "OUR BIGGEST SALE EVER!!"
One ripoff furniture company here has been saying that for 30+ years. By now they should be paying me to go there.

Visit the website of that shirt company and you'll be shocked at the prices. I think the cheapest shirt they sell is over $60.

I can only hope they are very high quality fabric. I'd buy a cheap shirt for $15-$25 and cut the tails shorter. Big deal.

That one guy with diabetes? they got dancing through the office to some lame music I’d like to clip with a baseball bat to the knees! Give him some real pain!
These commercials really irk me.....
Remember Big Pharma don’t make cures,,,They’re making customers....
Okay rant off and back to your regular schedule with Rolaids.....

What really tick's me off about these is that those highly produced ads are very expensive, and have to raise the price of the drug to the end users, us. They invade our space, annoy us with all the bullroar about side effects, yet none of us can actually buy the product without a doctor's prescription. They may as well be running ads for the Hope diamond.

Cheap production values, annoying voice, and fer crying out loud, the title was yours to start with until you made it collateral for a loan at an outrageous interest rate.
In my book, Title Max and their ilk are right up there with the payday loan thieves who prey on the down-on-their-luck and not-too-smart people.

Y'all have named almost 95% of the ones I hate, the other 5% I really hate.
