Carson Wentz
For Christmas, he gave his OL $24k worth of Beretta Silver Pigeons, each personalized with the players number.
The sports pundits have labeled this "irresponsible", "insensitive", "sending the wrong message", etc, etc.
I think I just became an Eagles fan.

Not being a football fan and not knowing much about shotguns I literally had to Google everything you just said! Including the "OL" part.
The sports pundits can go report on something else...... like the rate of speed grass grows.

I swear some of the sports commentators just like to stir things up in order to gain attention.
Carson made a nice gesture. It's that simple.

Many years ago I became a fan of Karl Malone(power forward for the Utah Jazz). Saw him interviewed by some idiot pundit and was asked about his hunting/shooting hobby. Malone looked straight at the guy and said "I don't have to apologize to anyone about my hunting."....,'nough said

I saw that yesterday, I thought it was pretty cool gesture. Especially since the Eagles offense works out of the Shotgun Formation most of the time! Sorry, couldn't pass that hanging curve up. Rusty, you are wearing off on me.

A frequent gesture that QB's make to their OL for protecting them.A little monetary motivation can do wonders for a QB's health.

Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys running back with a pending domestic violence problem from John Burroughs High School in St. Louis) and Cowboys QB Dak Presoctt got together and gave their OL's John Deere UTV's . . .

The pheasants up in Wentz's North Dakota probably wish he'd have given HIS OL the Deere UTVs.

I don't care for the Eagles, let alone professional sports, but I do think Wentz sounds like a good guy from what I have seen on the news.

A great gesture from a good kid who knows
who butters his bread.
ESPN has become another anti-common sense
version of CNN. I quit watching long ago.

Guns are icky and dangerous. Eek! Eek!
Let's hope these guys don't try carrying these shotguns in their sweatpants at a night club.

Well, it certainly may make the next DL think twice before they try to sack him. Although, it might be hard to hide the shotguns in their uniforms.

Carson Wentz is a big outdoors guy. Being from North Dakota I don't thinking hunting, fishing and the shooting sports are foreign to him. He just spent time over the holidays hunting with Mike Trout, who is native to the Philadelphia area. Wentz seems like he has a good head on his shoulders for a 24yr old kid, and he certainly has showed a level of maturity on and off the football field that is impressive by the standards of todays sports stars. The shotguns are a thoughtful gift, regardless of what the media has to say.

Carson is a Bismarck ( my home town ) native, graduating from Century High School and North Dakota State University (taking both schools to multiple championships) with scholastic honors. He is a true outdoorsman and mature beyond his years. The sports pundits, most of whom have never been anything approaching successful athletes, can blab and irritate sports fans as they do every week end. But Carson knows the game, and to reward his OL is another example of his character. BTW, today is his birthday; a whole 24 years old.

A prominent gun control lobby has asked about the legality of this. They want to know if it is a "Straw Purchase" or will background checks be done on all the OLmen. Also they are sending gun locks.
Just have to do SOMETHING.
