Ordered Cleaning Rod,What did I Get?
Two days ago I ordered a Tipton 22cal 26" carbon fiber cleaning rod for my 15-22 from the Amazon Warehouse. It was described as like new in original packaging and 5 bucks less than a new one off the regular site.
The Prime order arrived this morning.I opened the box within a few minutes of bringing it inside.
Inside the long Tipton Cleaning Rod packaging was not a carbon fiber cleaning rod.It was a 20" length of 1"OD plastic pipe that had a pointed plastic tip on one end that had a soft rubber cover.
What is this strange object I got instead of my cleaning rod?

Chinese by-product-leftover radioactive plastic? I bought an expensive cased set of gun stuff-Winchester brand. A lot of parts made in plastic.

Luckily, Amazon is pretty easy to return items that are incorrect. What you have I have no idea.

When I talked to an Amazon customer rep a few hours ago she said a replacement would arrive tomorrow and there was no need to send back the left hand sky hook I received.

Actually, it looks like a North Korean miniaturized ICBM with
a detachable multiple warhead tip.

Since it was the correct packaging I wonder if someone (dishonest) ordered one before and took out the correct rod, returned the packaging with the plastic pipe you got for a refund. When it arrived at Amazon they looked at it and didn't know what it was but thought it was correct and put it back in stock till it was shipped to you?

Close to the right caliber?
What about length?
Just curious trying to figure out what it might be?

It looks like an extendable leg for a bi-pod or tri-pod. The sharp point is for the ground and the rubber tip is for a bench or table top.

Maybe the lower half of a Manfrotto tripod leg? They make some carbon fiber ones. I think they have tips like that for different surfaces.

I feel your pain. Below you can read what happened to me when I was waiting for a long-delayed delivery of a new RSA for my Shield. Even Smith and Wesson can screw up. I still don't know what a "QD ambi sling mount" is.

Well, if you ever buy an AR, then you will have an extra "Quick Detachable ambidextrous sling mount" (or if they didn't make you send it back, you could sell it in the classifieds, won't get rich but it's worth a few bucks to a MP-10 or MP-15 owner)

If so, it could be resold for a decent amount of money.
That stuff's not cheap.

This is the cleaning rod(attached file) I should have received from the Amazon Warehouse instead of the thing-a-ma-jig I did receive.
Amazon made it right very quickly(member since 1999)
I bought a lot of bore brushes last year at 75% off at a nearby Walmart that was closing it's doors that day
