Why are people making their conceal carry guns look like Rainbow Bright?
Quick question. Why is it that people are taking weapons meant for concealment and putting them in the brightest color holster possible along with mag/slide attachments that grab attention? Is it the whole "look at me I'm cool" thing or is there an advantage to when you draw out from concealment having a gigantic pink mag extension on your shield is better than a flat black one. I get it if your range hot rod and holster is all decked out but concealed? I thought concealed meant to hide and blend in....
I keep seeing pictures on firearms pages on FB that just make me slap my forehead.

Different strokes for different folks. Thank God we have young folks and more females buying and enjoying guns. They aren't any more flashy than a high polish nickel wearing a fine set of ivory are they?

There are many carrying openly now in various states .. so the holsters are seen as well as the grips of the pistols .. Those wanting to be fashionable will go for holsters like that .. and different colored grips are already on many carry pistols ..

An "in your face" fashion statement of dome sort I would assume.
I remember it was normal for Law Enforcement to assume ("back in the day") that someone with a Blued gun was a good guy while someone with a flashy gun was a bad guy (in general terms of course).

Because guns have become a fashion statement. Look at how many people buy accessories before even shooting the gun.

I have a theory on this subject lets say for example your carrying one of these brightly colored guns for defense and you have to use it, after the shooting is over you prepare to holster it, and heaven forbid it slips out of your hand, because of its bright color it will stand out in realtion to the ground that your standing on, and you will be able to easily see it, so it can be reholstered.

Being a hard core car guy I get this. But it's like trying to show up to an auto cross on drag slicks.

Bought a P238 Rainbow a few years ago from shootersjax. Wasn't looking for a Rainbow, but there was a sale on and it was their cheapest one.
Had it transferred thru local gun store. Dealer called to let me know when it came in.
Walked into store, half dozen people milling around, owner yells, to make sure everyone hears, "Hey, Joe, your PINK gun is here!"
"Dammit, Jack, it's magenta!"
"LOOKS PINK TO ME."
But that little pistol shoots great! Attached is at 15 and 20 yards.

^^^^^^^^^I just had Caitlin at the gun rangs Sat-teaching her how to handle-aim-load unload-and listen to instructions when she takes the class in 2 weeks. While there-I saw at least 5 women buying guns and another 6 or so on the range practicing-not including Caitlin. Anyway, the men were out-numbered 4-to-1. It ws great seeing so many ladies buying/practicing or just getting interested in our fine sport. I spoke with four of them-a duo-mother/daughter-were each buying a 9mm-and also going tom the range. The other two were on the range. One out shooting told us she was doing so because a "ghetto hood-rat" her words-not mine) tried to carjack her at a red light the day before--and in a better section of town than where im living. She had convinced herself-before this incident-that she really didnt need a gun-but how that episode changed her mind.
Anyway, it was nice to see an up-tick of ladies getting into this sport.

Speaking of which-Caitlin isnt for those fancy colored "feminine-like" guns i.e(pink, green etc) colored guns. She likes those like mine--blued an parkerized. Im supposed to find something for her next gun show--which I figured would be a Walther (yeah, im a bit particular on firsts-and stuck on the brand) and know exactly what she will like. Her stance on owning a gun-is she doesnt wantr something to be "fancy-or weird-colored" just something she will be comfortable with which will go BANG whenn she needs it to.

There's actually a well-known armed-defense attorney who carries one of those Beretta Picos, complete with purple frame.
He says that if someone is going to unjustly accuse him of pointing his gun at them, then his first statement to the police is going to be, "Ask them what color it is."

Same here-only I just personalise the grips with patriotic themes and colored caricatures of James Garner as Maverick playing poker-and Rebel soldiers as a way to pay homage to MY ancestors and thumb my nose at those who hate my heritage!!

Look at who's doing it.For the very same reason they put these color cases on their smart phone. You know it must bother some that you cannot add an app to a gun.

If the gun is concealed, what difference does it make?
Why not ask why people like fancy carved leather belts, holsters, and mag carriers? Same difference.
Bottom line: Their money + their gun = their choice. Period.

I thought about painting my tavor blue. Every now and then I think about put some blue stripes on the cylinder of my revolver. The same style stripes like the racing stripes on the fenders of those vintage mopars.
But I feel it would be stupid looking so I never done it. It's not my style any way.

My uncle Roy said: "It's good we don't all like the same thing, or everyone would want my woman."
Not a fan of colored guns, but have no problem with those who like them.

Totally, and like I said, range hot-rod have at it. My concern is that in the real world sometimes maybe a grip gets partially shown or such, loading grocery's, kid in the car, ect... A gigantic bright shiny colored piece of anodized aluminum is going to grab someone's attention much quicker than a darker color.
My range gun has a polished barrel hood and blue roll marks. I'm really itching to get a carbon fiber kydex holster for matches and possibly blue mag plates. I get people will do what they want and that's cool but I just think when it comes to being concealed you wouldn't do things to make the gun stand out on purpose.

While I'm not opposed to having colors on my guns, I have to say mine all follow Henry Ford's motto, "Any color as long as it's black". I find it clean, simple and classically elegant.
That being said, there are some great looking guns that I wouldn't kick out of my safe. For example Char from CCTactics has a great looking XD

I also like the toned down color mods like this

If it's a CC gun, who's going to see it? I don't care what color they are, but the "colorized" versions usually cost more so that would deter me.

My EDC is a Purple Ruger LC9s. I got it because it was on sale for $249.00. A black one was $399.00.
I've also got a pink High Standard R101, 22 revolver. With white grips, and a chrome cylinder no less.
I kinda like 'em both.

10-4 CB. I got my Rainbow because it was on sale. Then it grew on me.
I need Krieghoff to make a Classic double in 450/400 3 inch in pink, so I could afford to buy it.

I do see some outlandish looking pistols, but some other pistols do look fairly cool. I like this "American themed" 1911 I saw online.
Off duty, I carry concealed, but often in an OWB kydex holster. I attached a picture of some of the kydex holsters I use. I primarily carry a S&W Shield 9 or HK P30. Every now and then I carry a Sig P320. I know a lot of people won't see my holsters, but 1) they were only $40 (with free shipping) from Ebay, and 2) I think they look cool.

Not, my cup of tea. I am amazed at some of the things I see in gun cases now days. Rainbow colors. Not to impressed with the semis sporting rails, some kind of fancy sight and then a flashlight underneath. Maybe if your job is clearing tunnels and basements. My preference is KISS

Guns in multi colors insure that there will always be a good supply of lower priced handguns on the used gun market.

guess if wild accessories, etc help get more into this sport/hobby/carry world, I don't see an issue with it.
Heck up here, WI passed a law to allow for blaze pink to be worn during deer season to attract more girl/women hunters. Some women took offense to it, showing one can not please all.

I agree. Won't stop me from laughing at some choices, but it is absolutely each his own to make.
Still giggling a little at these two that I saw recently.

People sure like to draw attention to what they are carrying. I prefer the dont see em...you don't know what I am carrying on a given day.
