Reinventing the wheel is sometimes the right thing, when the result is a radial tire.

I am kinda leaning towards the Phaser....as I recall...no recoil to deal with...stun setting for keeping the teens in the house inline...and when set to "kill"....no remains of the body to clean up...or be accused of terminating..

Yes, so we can have a "Why didn't the (insert name here) take off debate?".
How about trying to revive an old fashioned/out of fashion round-say 38 S&W or 38-40 in revolvers or say 357 SIG ?

I ain't no Elmer Keith but I must admit that when in need of stopping power, the .357, as good as it is is more like a medium caliber. Now don't read me wrong here;I like the caliber. It is,in my book, the most usefull all around caliber most people can have. But when in serious discussion with heavy furry opponent, I'll stick with the saying that goes:.40/200/1000 or more(.40cal or more with a 200 gr bullet or more moving at 1000fps or more).

I think a .357/44 Bain & Davis in a Coonan would be the answer.
Of course I'm fond of .357 Sigs too!!
And love .357 Magnums loaded with W296, H110 or 2400.

The more the merrier. The market will decide.

A new cartridge? That'll mean new reloading dies, shell plate and maybe tool head. More powder and loading manuals....... Hmmmm..... Maybe not a bad idea.

And how different is any of those cartridges from a 7,62x25?

A car door will stop it in its tracks. It will usually not even get through the first layer of sheet metal. I tried it.

The 7.65 x 25 has some impressive loads, like 1700 fps with an 85 grain bullet, but being a bottleneck it probably wouldn't hold any more rounds in a typical handgun magazine than a 9m/mm.

I once thought about getting one of those newfangled weapons, but decided to stick to my trusty lightsaber, an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
