After learning of timn8er's passing, I was able to look up his sister.

I had a nice phone conversation with her this afternoon.
I told her that Tim was a mainstay here with many friends, and that he will be sorely missed. I extended all of our condolences to her and their family and let her know that many people are praying for them.

She was very familiar with his participation here. She said that Tim was always quoting jokes and cartoons, etc. from the forum here.

She asked me to pass this along:
She thanked everybody here for being Tim's friends and she could tell that he enjoyed the time he spent here. She said "Thank you" on behalf of their family for the prayers and well wishes.
She told me that she was glad that Tim had companionship, friends, and people that care about him.

She said that she knew Tim was a regular here and she felt bad that they didn't know his password to log in and tell us the unfortunate news.

It was a difficult phone call to make, but I'm glad I was able to contact her and talk with her.

It's nice to know that we meant as much to Tim as he meant to all of us. It's obvious that Tim and his sister both came from great stock.
I wish his family peace and comfort as they try to cope with Tim's passing.

Rob, you've been the bearer of the worst and now the best news I've had in the past couple of days. It means a lot to all of us that Tim's family knows about this group of friends of his, and that we share their loss and grief.

Your compassion and sympathy in reaching out to Tim's family speak volumes about the kind of friend you were to him and are to us. He would be touched and very appreciative, I'm sure -- as are we.

I hope that Tim did not suffer at the end, and that perhaps this was unforeseeable, unexpected, and mercifully fast. That hard part is thankfully over now, and he is at peace for eternity. I am sure his family takes comfort in that, even as they work through their grieving of such an enormous loss.

I love the way members here pull together when a one of us is lost, ill or bereaved. I've seen it many times, and benefited from it myself whn my brother died two years ago.
