Default Just another range story...

Besides nuts, sometimes I run into interesting people at the public range. Me and a buddy were bench shooting one day at 100 yards. We had the range to ourselves. An older guy walks up in hunting clothes with a rifle and said he needed some help from some experts to help sight in his rifle for deer season. We protested that we were nobody's 'experts' but he insisted so my buddy and I took a couple of shots with his rifle each. At 100 yards, we hit the target ok off the bench, groups about 4", ok for hunting, and we gave his rifle back to him. Standing, he took aim and POW, click-click POW, the guy puts 2 in the target about 2" from each other around the bullseye. He thanked us and walked off while we just looked at each other. I guess the guy just wanted to give away a couple of shots so he didn't need to set up his own target. He sure didn't need help from any 'experts'.

Maybe he thought "two experienced shooters. Get them to shoot a couple of shots and see if they can hit the target. If they can, then I can. Saves me a bunch of time".

Now your fingerprints are on the gun. Better hope it doesn't end up someplace...incriminating.

....looked like he might have been a serial killer. He was behind the 'Rifle Man Murders'. After some of the people I've seen there I'm not sure that's a joke.
